    I don't know...
Since coming back a bit, I am noticing this game seems to be a lot worse off than it was.
Constant nerfs to weapons, classes, vehicles (across all factions)
Still buggy as hell after a year.
Constant changes instead of trying to improve gameplay or fix bugs, the end up making both worse.
And the ridiculous power shifts they create from one faction to the next in order to try and even out the pops.
Im still playing and enjoy the game, but I have to admit, its just not as fun as it was.
I guess Im just looking to see who else shares these thoughts about whats happening with the state of the game.
Also seriously, its seems like its just 1 big farm fest now.
Agree/Disagree lets hear it, but lets keep it civil.

Ya Im bored and am looking for some reading material too

Yeah, everything he says makes a ton of sense at least to me. I miss being able to do the wonky sneaky crap LA's did back in the day.

Well I have noticed that people just like to blob on one hex. 100+ battles seem a lot more common now. Which is bad for me because I still have a laptop and that's about where I start losing performance bad. And the frontline doesn't seem to change too much during a battle. Feels like the factions are funneling into one place for a big fight. No one seems to want moderate fights or to push too much away from the biggest fight.

    That's just how I feel.

It doesnt play like PS1, there are alot of things wrong with the game , especially the lack of empire specific vehicles, more in PS1, cloakers nerfed and dont play like cloakers, no hacking of enemy vehicles..good times in PS1. Sonys biggest problem is Sony, they are arrogant and refuse to use things that work and make the game fun, always trying to be original to kill off their games. Great job Sony!

I did love the hacking tool, if you had balls of steel you could walk right up to BFR slip under his shield and hack him out of his own BFR.
but we can always look back fondly on a game whose graphics in comparison were lackluster compared to this one. The PFS encounters were kinda of hit and miss with the weaponry, and even though each faction had its on unique items it all is dated. We all want a the game we were as PS1 players promised for 5 years. This one is good but as Mayo alluded to in the above post Sony is trying to improve a game that hasn't officially been launched yet.

I miss stealing the other factions loadouts after killing them. I was NC for PS1 and we all were jumping on the cyclers then lashers when they were OP. It was funny as hell watching a bunch of NC heavies run into a tower all firing the purple balls of death.

I think that the game is fine, I mean its not perfect and I don't think it ever will be. With all these games, changes are usually bad because they force you to focus on things that are more powerful but they may not be good for your play style. Adjusting to the new changes is what dictates weather you're going to stick with it or not. IMO there is nothing wrong with that because it comes down to either liking or not liking the game and forcing yourself to do something that you don't like will not be fun. At the same time becoming better at new things and challenging yourself will come back to you in a big way when all things start to fall into the right places.

I would have to mostly agree with Nraged. I believe that the game is in a place where fun is unique. Everyone enjoys doing different things and that is what makes the game enjoyable. Some outfits like AOD just like to zergfest a point and if they find that fun then hey, that's their thing. It's not my cup of tea, and I don't play with them. so why should I care? and other outfits like DA are super ego driven stat watching farmers. Which also, is not my cup of tea. (to a degree) I enjoy the big fights, the intelligent strategies, the scale of the continents. I think that Fun has become relative to which PlanetSide you're playing. because there are sooooooooo many different ways to play it.

We used to be a little zergy, back in january of last year. We were a Zergfit and we had fun. we refined that 500-800 member group of people into a more stratigized "farmfit" but it wasn't the same. At least I don't think so. It seemed we're more about "GET AS MANY CERTS AS POSSIBLE GOGOGOGOGOGO" which is cool and all, but it started to feel like a chore after a while. I miss when we had tons of people and we all had a good time. That's what this game was about. but between the devs changing the game, and us changing us, I feel our fun is now something we need to find again.

FNO last week was insanely fucking fun. I saw people I have not seen in months. and it was great! AND we kicked some serious ass! we had an almost 100% full NNG Platoon. Which is something I haven't seen since early summer. And honestly I don't know what happened. one day we were rocking super coordinated platoons of people and then it just seemed to peak off and start stopping. And before FNO I didn't want to play PlanetSide. For the sole reason that I would see maybe 20 people on TS and everyone was in different channels and everyone was doing their own thing. It's like we lost the unity somewhere and we're now finally starting to get it back.

These past week has been the most fun in PS2 I've had in months. And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. And I'm realllllllllllly hoping we can continue to make it fun for ourselves. Personally? I don't care if SOE nerfs this or buffs that or whatever. We adapt. We always have, and the world won't end. I enjoy the game because all of you make it fun and enjoyable.

That. Is the PlanetSide I love.
