Not sure where I see me mixing up anything. I was only speaking about WarZ the entire time.

And all you would have to say is that the dev team of War Inc is involved... That alone is enough to tell me that this game isn't going to be what we wanted it to be.

    Your first sentence.
That's DayZ with the MC release style. Not WarZ. WarZ is milking it for all they're worth with a full price cost and cash shop. After reading the first sentence I misunderstood the rest to be talking about DayZ.

But, wasn't DayZ a free mod? so how do they apply a sale model to a free mod.. Unless I missed something here lol.

Either way, I'm sad to see WarZ's current path.

DayZ started as a mod, yes. For ARMA2. A full release is being worked on as a standalone title. Built from the ground up using a modified engine. It'll end up somewhere between ARMA2 and ARMA3 in appearance and functionality. On top of that the mod will continue to be supported after the standalone's release. The standalone will also not be a full priced game. You really couldn't ask for more from a developer. A supported free mod version and several pricing tiers for the full version depending on when you buy.

DayZ is part of a long list of games that started as mods. A few examples would be Team Fortress, Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike, Red Orchestra, DoTA2, and Natural Selection 2. Left 4 Dead started as a mod idea for Counter-Strike. Even Battlefield 2 got its start as a mod for BF1942 called Desert Combat.
