    Figured I would share this simple tweak with you guys, don't be afraid of the wall of text, it takes 10 seconds tops. FXAA is built in from the start and can not be removed in-game, it makes rough edges smoother BUT also makes textures very blurry (which you may have noticed). I have noticed small improvements in performance, but I'm a graphics junkie and it's safe to say I'm pleased with the results.

    1: Start the Planetside 2 launcher (if you edit the file and THEN start the game, the launcher will just repair the edited file.)

    2: Locate your main Planetside 2 folder, open up GraphicsData, in there is a file called "materials_3", open with notepad.

    3: find the following lines of code:

    <Object Class="MaterialDefinition" Name="EdgeAA" Type="EdgeAA">
    <Array Name="DrawStyles">
    <Object Class="DrawStyle" Name="Normal" Effect="Shaders\dirblur.fxo" InputLayout="Post" />

    4: Remove Shaders\dirblur.fxo, should now look like this:

    <Object Class="MaterialDefinition" Name="EdgeAA" Type="EdgeAA">
    <Array Name="DrawStyles">
    <Object Class="DrawStyle" Name="Normal" Effect="" InputLayout="Post" />

    5: Done, start the game!

    The screenshots don't do much justice, you simply have to see it in-game.

    ***I have yet to see anyone getting banned for this, this tweak has been around for quite some time. Do at your own risk***

    you said that the patcher will repair the file, so will we have to do this everytime we start the game?

    Yes, I'm looking for a fix for that. Tried setting it to "read only" but that didn't work.

    WHY ARE YOU NC YOU TRAITOR SCUM!!

    Oh and everything seems to be a little crisper and clearer. If you can figure out how to prevent the game from fixing this every time I would do this to.

    Some other Tweaks!

    This can be changed in the UserOptions folder in the Planetside 2 main Folder.

    Change Render Distance to 1000 instead of -1.0000 ( system default).
    You can also turn off shadows, fog, flora by putting a 0 next to those.

    Do this before you enter the Game and save it. You'll never have to reset it again.
