I agree with Nraged. Especially about the chatter.

I think the reason we always have to bring up this issue with the chatter and respecting SL/PL is becuase we recruit new people but then don't have any orientation or go over our policies. I think it would be wise that we start making a habit every Outfit Meeting just going over our policies for like 5 minutes so everyone is up to date.

Chatting is ok in certain instances (ghost capping), but when an SL or PL is giving an order or gives an order to have no chat, just respect him/her. Often, When leading Squads or Platoons you have Channel Commander on, Command Chat on, and TS this makes a lot of chatter for the SL or PL to sift through. It's incredibly annoying trying to figure out where to go next when all these channels are going off at the same time and NNG TS has someone giving a play by play of how they died or how they killed someone and why.

Someguide lines I like to follow (I sometimes break them too, though I try not to)
    • "Item" chat goes to the chat box or forums
    • Vehicle COOP Chat goes to prox chat or whisper or other TS channel
    • TS is mainly used for listening to orders, relaying tactiful info ("Sunderer approachin NE")
All I'm trying to say is, We can do better and have in the past. I don't want to mute anyone.

This is the guideline for tactical comms. I think what Nraged was talking about is casual comms, which is rarely used nowadays and begins to ruin the fun when you cant goof off a bit or apologize to your gal crew as to why you blew up without being told to "Shut the fuck up"

There is a time and place for most things. Talking shit has it's place and time, as well as shutting the hell up and listening to orders while calling appropriate targets. I expect everyone in NNG to always respect each other as well as giving MORE respect to your SL & PL.

Life has been in the way of my gaming time so I am unaware of current comms usages but when I can get on I will personally address things as I see them.

Jaamaw's a nub so if he is PL then do what you like... /crazykillercat

Everyone has brought up some great points.
My personal problem is with people bitching, crying, whining, complaining or talking about some dumb shit that can be discussed in a different channel.
IMO it should not only Planetside related but rather battle/current fight related but more on a positive note.

I found myslef put in place by Nraged the other night, I wanted to tell him to go diddle a sheep, when he told me we dont give a bleep how you died. He was correct, I have since held my banter on comms. It comes down to hearing what needs to be heard. Battlecomms are Battlecomms not banter comms. Lets tighten it up and show everyone NNG discipline! We showed last night through proper communication and quick thinking that a small group could cap a Continent! SO chatter down folks!

and NRaged FU and your little dog TOO! ;) good show

Why don't we just give PLs priority speaker?

How often are people who are not in the PL group (Nraged, for one) are leading platoons?

I wouldn't know because I never play with the main platoon for reasons like the ones nraged is talking about, but I know for a fact we regularly have officers on, and they should have the ability to designate priority speaker.
