We have all agreed to give this another shot in the future, because it was fun as hell. Hopefully next time we can bring some different maps into the rotation and find some really cool angles to film from.

Good stuff. Are you guys setting a target airspeed or just eyeballing it? looks like you're just eyeballing it.

 

We found that when you get to close to another jet's bubble, you break the games netcode and start seeing raw packets. So there is no more animation smoothing. You actually see the jet jittering around, like pulsing for every packet of info that's sent to the server.

So we couldn't get to close. I don't even know why I mentioned all that.

We ran at full speed minus burners. And throttled up or down to try to shimmy ourselves closer or further from the leading jet. Once you reach full throttle, the jet sits at a constant speed. With burners you can reach 420.

It was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again.

Sometimes putting the guns down and having some fun makes everything worth it. Few weeks ago we raced around in every vehicle possible on Firestorm, the we have some Jet fun on Oman. Never know what's next? MAV races with a teammate on top. First to finish with their mate left on the MAV?

 

Btw, thanks for giving my Video an extra push. The better the response the more enthusiastic I get with them. My EVE crew we're all about my videos but I started to get no response. Hell for all I know nobody watched em...which was wrong but they never even let me know they watched it. So naturally I said fuck this, why do I bother? Lord knows I don't need to spend the time to see our space fights over again...they were in my perspective anyways.

Ya, so the more interested people are, the more work I give.

I just downloaded fraps today. Been recording with it a bit. It's nice.

Any suggestions on what I should have the settings at to get thebest video output but also not kill my FPS?

 

We're going to coordinate a day where we all get together and shoot some footy. The jet rodeo was more or less a spontaneous thing that just sort of materialized out of a few of us goofing around in the jets.

 

@Ghost - I run my game maxed with FXAA Injection and Fraps recording at 30FPS Full Size. I have a 1100T Phenom X6, 32GB DDR3 and a HD6950 2GB. Runs solid, I only loose like 5FPS of my average of 50. So not quite clearing the 30 recording FPS over 30 FPS. Which is my ideal preference, but BF3 doesn't take much effect from Fraps - at least not on my setup.

Now, I have also been able to Fraps BF3 on the similar setup except 16GB and a HD5770. All I needed to do was drop a few settings to High to avoid some micro jitter.

A few things I'd ask is, what GPU do you have, what reso you running...

@Chester - I am into all things Electronic. Dub and Dub like stuff is my favourite. I am having a hard time likeing Dub since everybody makes up genres and sub genres these days. But I generally jsut listen to it and forget what its called.

I also like Trance, House, Hardstyle. Anything really.
