In Game Titles

They have a song called "I, Palindrome, I" which seemed like you might have partially appropriated for your nick.

 

The honest answer is I only did it to look cool, when a game accepts upper case I or lower case L to seem like a |. Making my name look more like a tag than just floating text. I can deffinately see where you could think I used that song though. What a coincidence

It also helps me to aquire the name "Paladin".. as it's a common, generic name. Though I might think about changing names again to be more unique.

Also, in game (and on this site) I normally stick to LPaladinL. However for Planetside 2, I stuck with iPaladini, since on the squad/outfit list it reads as "LPALADINL" and "|PALADIN|" respectively.

 

I don't think there is any need to suggest to NNG members that they don't make use of the titles. People like their bling after all. As was mentioned above it's something SoE needs to fix. Not us. Putting the title behind the name or above the name would clear it all up.

 

I suspect that it's really only confusing for those of us on Vanu. If we were in the other factions, beins "Specialist so and so" or "Private blahblah" wouldn't be as confusing.

But because we have sci-fi-religious titles, until you get used to seeing them, it takes a little mental adjustment.

 

It's not the titles themselves. It's the fact that they come before the actual player name. It's not a matter of confusion. It's a matter of quickly seeing who is who.

 

Hmm. I guess after years of WoW, EQII, EQ, and others - I've just learned to mentally filter titles out. :/

 

A skill I will have to learn if SoE doesn't change the title system.
