I would like to see what we organized last night on VS more often. For those not familiar, following our PAL match, about a squad of us joined VS in the ops comms channels. We played seriously as a squad, played the objective, eliminated unnecessary communication, took bases against odds, and I think we all left feeling a lot better, especially given what had gone down earlier yesterday. I think this needs to be not promoted and required for competitive players for certain times. It needs to be a place where, if you're in there, you are playing for your team. You aren't making meme jokes, you aren't spouting drama, you aren't giving a stream of concious about every detail of your gameplay. You follow your squad leaders orders to the T and play to win. Try new classes, loadouts, etc and see how they match up in a more serious setting. It isn't a channel for farming, put yourself in fights where you are challenged, make your own fights by pushing key points. We as a squad near single-handedly took NS Mat, Rashnu Watchtower, and Rashnu Biolab with extreme efficiency. I tried a class I am uncomfortable with and was pulling off 30+ kilstreaks due to effectice squad play and support. It was all about the team. I know many people had a great time and for those such as myself, it is something I had expected to do more of as a member of NNG. I know a lot of us in JCST play a bit more like this given our smaller numbers, and thus greater squad cohesion. So yeah, I hope this is something we do more often and also make sure it is enforced as a place for serious play. I have often found myself leaving certain channels bc the casual comms make it hard to focus and practice. Thanks for leading last night Jaam, trully felt like team NNG is and will continue to be.
I would love to see more tactical live play for VS, I really enjoy it as someone who doesn't participate in the competitive stuff.
Yeah, I can tell. I was a NNG fanboy long before joining. Besides the severe asskicking I would get from NNG ppl while on live, I closely followed us on CC through the end. That sortof gameplay plus getting to know our playerbase was not a bunch of pretentious tryhards is what made the outfit so attractive. Seems to have a gotten away from that a bit lately (the competitive stuff not ppl being pretentious), possibly due to a large volume of new players idk, but it was nice to get back to that. I enjoy playing competitively outside of the competitive team stuff.
Except we were all in one channel and it was a lot messier :P As a reminder to those using those slots, its is for tactical comms. Please do not "just join the channel because every one was there" and expect it to be run in a casual manner. thanks!
That part up there was why I was so confused, Mom. :P Anyway, if you guys are gonna be up there again, I'll definitely pop in there! Likewise people in the air channel should be doing air. @.@
Let's not start on that.... We've been saying that for a long time and to have people move to the air channel... It usually only sticks for a month...
Going to bump this for those who may not have seen it. The channels I reference are the Operations channels. No real requirement to play with the ppl in there but if you do, there are certain expectations for players in terms of following orders, clear and efficient communication, playing the objective, etc. Casual play is best done in VS/TR/NC play channels. I know Jaam and the rest of the officers want to see this side of things flourish and I know many of you relish the opportunity to take part in this kind of gameplay, so let's all do our best to play at that level when in there.
