    i was able to make all kinds of spells and flight works for me with no problems.

    yea something strange is up, last night before the server crash the recipie for Flight was yellow red blue black, It did not work. after the crash when the server came back up it was red black white orage. This morning when I tried setting my config to false it was white white blank black, again did not work

    Ya, this is a known bug with Ars Magica. I'll try disabling the random recipes option again, hopefully it sticks this time. On the client side, it shouldn't matter what your configuration setting is. I mean, it'd be pretty stupid if someone could overwrite the server configuration simply by changing the setting client side. The option is just there for SSP and LAN servers.

    Welp, for now we'll have to keep randomized runes turned on, because the server crashes when it's told to not randomize the spell runes. Keep in mind that ARS Magica is actively in beta development, so while there are some nasty bugs, I'm expecting they'll be patched within a reasonable time.

    About the flight thing I was the one that had the problem. Was able to make the spell easily and I could cast it and see that I had the buff but the double space just made me jump.

    Tal tried a couple of things but right after he added me as an op I was able to fly on the first try with no issues since.

    It seems...that sometimes after logging off and back in the recipes which are randomized change even for you. That seems to "fix" the issue with not crafting with the correct rune combination. I had that problem not long ago tonight where I could not make chain lightning. Then after some amount of time the recipe changed and I could make it just fine.

    I got the spells to work now, I changed my thing back to true and now I can make all my spells and fly around.,

    got it. its saying i dont have the mods for the server installed when i tried to log in.
    thanks for the help again nano, you're a life saver :)
    btw that is an awesome explanation, and you should definately put that up.
