Send Jaamaw to SOE Live - A NNG Donation Project

Hi everyone,

A few weeks back Sergeant created a thread about raising funds to send an NNG PS2 division member to SOE Live. What is SOE Live you ask? It's a gaming convention sort of like E3 but only put on by one company. Sony Online Entertainment. Because it's put on by just SOE the interaction with developers and fellow gamers is more intimate and like minded. It features many games that fall under the SOE name but most importantly includes Planet Side 2.

There was a sort of unspoken unanimous vote to send Jaamaw as the official NNG ambassador. But we need to raise money to do so.

@Sergeant included a breakdown of the potential costs:

• Airfare (roundtrip New York to LV $600ish)
• Hotel (min 4 nights $500ish)
• Transportation ($200 for taxi to and from airport if hotel does not have a van)
• 1 meal a day ($40)
• The cost of the event+tax (Est. $140.00)
• Some extra funds to schmooze over sponsors ($100+any extra funds not spent already).
• Estimated Total :: $1580.00 USD per person.

So we'll be shooting for $1600.00 total. Given the head count that NNG has I think this is a realistic and reachable figure. The question is, are you willing to donate? This would be a completely voluntary drive, but before we commit to it, I wanted to feel out the community.

Some perspective:

• It would take only 16 donations of $100 to reach our goal
• It would take 32 donations of $50
• It would take 64 donations of $25
• It would take 128 donations of $12.50

It's a great event and having NNG representation there would be a big deal. Jaamaw would be in the heart of the community interacting with fellow gamers and potentially developers. He would help spread the NNG name and way!
And most importantly, it would just be really cool to say we banded together and sent him!
So please, cast a vote and let's see what we can do.
