This morning, shortly after the patch fixing bugs and the like, the few NNGers around went to Allatum to join an semi-3 way farm. For roughly 2 hours, we were embroiled in a slaughterfest, and finally, after nearly an hour and a half, I successfully recieved the last remaining kills to get my Auraxium Medal on my Solstice. It's time to retire her, and start anew on my Pulsar C. Sad part is, I will miss the solstice and all her power.
I was checking out the stat site and I'm really close to Auraxium on my SV-88 and Pulsar C, so I'm going to be using those until I metal them.
Why do you guys all refuse to use your primary weapon that you are very good with just to get a few other certs? It makes no sense to me
No Geneau, my question is about the logic behind it. Most of our guys who do this complain because they arent good with the gun or they have to change the playstyle. When I tell them to swap back to the other gun they give me the response, "Becuase I already have the medal for it." That is somthing I expect to hear from a cert farm whore. We are a domination group, not the other.
Well, obviously that's what they are. Besides that, they actually like the difference. That's why people don't stick 100% of the time to the same class and why they even change faction.
If they're doing it for the certs, from what I've seen, you will get more certs if you stick to a weapon that you are good with. The medals are a treat for playing well with a weapon. Medals will only yield 226 certs per weapon. For instance, I use my VX6-7 almost religiously over the rest of my carbines. I've been told to switch up my weapon so that I could get medals countless times. People don't understand that if you find that perfect gun that fits your playstyle the best, you will earn far more certs than medals could ever get you. The VX has gotten me 3649 cert points from just normal usage in addition to the 226 from medals. To stop using your favorite gun because you feel the obligation or need to earn medals is like shooting yourself in the foot, in my opinion. All in all, it's a game. I think people have the right to play the game in how they want to play. If they want to get medals, then let them get their medals. As long as they're having fun, that's all that really matters.
To sum this up with Orm-ness, I strive. I pick guns within my playstyle, because I cannot continue without striving and pushing myself beyond my current capabilities. Otherwise, you all would never see me again, because I would be sitting in a skyguard laughing insanely on a ridge somewhere with an ammo sundy till the end of time...
Personally I say do what makes you happy. On the other issue though I say if you enjoy one weapon more then the rest do not stop using it just because you feel the need to become a good all around player. Stick with what makes you happy. If running a Lib makes you happy and that is all you want to do, well be my guest be the best damn lib pilot/gunner in the game and strike fear in to the enemy when ever they see you coming.
