    I-5 3570k @ 4.9ghz
Sapphire 7870 OC edition @ 1180 MHz core 1250mhz memory
    Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
    Asrock Z77 PRO4
    Corsair Vengeance 8g DDR3
    Scandisk 128gb SSD
    1TB WD HD
    Razer Naga
    Razer Deathadder
    Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 headset
RCA 5.1 Surround sound w/ blueray.
    Plextor DVd burner

Stable, oc My I-5 was easy after I did the research. Runs nice and cool around 30C idle and 56c while playing PS2 on a Hyper Evo 212. From stock 3.4 GHZ to 4.9 GHZ

My 7870 was a pain due to the hardware voltage lock. I could only manage to get 1180 MHz over 1050 mhz. I tried speeding up the ram, however I would get crashes. My goal was 1.2ghz, but I just couldn't get the power to the card.

    Tools used.
    Asrock Tuner
    Sapphire Trixx
    GPU-Z
    CPU-Z
    Real Temp

Torture testing ( verify stable) and benchmarking:
    Prime95-CPU
    3dMark-GPU

    Performance test by passmark

Tomb Raider on Ultra 1600x900. I score 39 Average on stock cpu and gpu.

This is my G-card Versus stock Blue and red are both my scores, Green is stock 7800.

    That's mine versus a stock 3750k.

If you know of any other good benches let me know. I also have 3dmark, heaven.

I think Furmark is a bench that sets out to crash your card, so if you can run stable at furmark it should indicate a full proof overclock.

You're gonna have to show me how to OC more. Why buy new shit when you can make your current stuff better?

For CPU testing (how much load can it take before your system overheats) I recommend Core Damage in combination with Speccy.
Speccy gives some details about your stuff without the useless fancy bits and reads your temperatures. Core Damage can load your CPU to the max.

My temperatures used to go till 80 degrees Celsius (353 K), with my new graphics card it won't go over 40 (313 K) :)

Doesn't give you any benchmarks, but does test how far you can OC without temperature problems.

I use prime 95 and core temp. I'll give that a spin as well.

I think I've used it. I've used many types, I'll have to check it out again.

You have to have a unlocked multiplier and you motherboard has to support overclocking before you begin. You can increase it some but the firmware will kill anything you try beyond it's set thresholds

Post your specs and I'll be more than happy to help.

How about a general 'I have this stuff and I want to OC, what do I do?' thread?
