Its been about two months since my computer went into hospice. A lot has happened in that time from getting my room remodeled to my discovery of the outside world and all the people and events that I have been missing out on.

All of this has taught me to put the PC in its place as a multimedia entertainment device - not a supplement for a fulfilling life, but something to relax with when I have nothing else to do.

I expect my new computer to arrive within this month, and I intend to join all of you again, but I don't expect to be online as often as I was before. I have had a taste of how great life can be and it's difficult to let go of this new addiction.

Anyway, this new PC is a Dell XPS 8700 with an Intel 4th gen i7 processor, 12 gigs of RAM, a 1 Terrabyte hard drive and an Nvidia GTX 645 graphics card. I think this will be all I need for a while since I'm not planning to record or do any streaming.

I'll see you all soon once it gets here and I get everything installed. Can't wait to see how well it can run PS2

How much did you pay for it? That 635 is just...yuck...

The computer itself was $999. I was on a strained budget since I also needed a new monitor. I think its an upgrade considering that I suffered with a GTX 550ti in my old PC for 3 years. I can always upgrade to a better one later if i need it.

You could have asked for one of us to put together a list of parts within a price range for you. If you still have time, I can put one together right now if you would like.

As you can see I like MSI and Corsair, they are both companies who have treated me very well in the past. I did not put in a OS because I find paying for that is a waste, you can find that stuff for free one the internet and I can send you win8 with a code cracker that is clean (I use it myself and have no issues I will send you the files I have) if you would like.

I'm pretty satisfied with my intel i7 and 12 gig RAM. My old PC had a Geforce 550ti so i consider the 635 to be a significant upgrade, but I can always buy a better one when i get the money.

I really do appreciate your offer, but I have already ordered my PC from Dell. I think it will serve me well until I get a little more time, money, and knowledge to build one from scratch in the future

The 635 will not be a upgrade at all. It is actually a downgrade... I'm sure it will hold PS2 on medium to low graphic alongside that processor but I would upgrade it as soon as possible.

I'll have to wait and see just how well it runs. I've always preferred performance over graphics, so If it really does need a better GPU then I can live with it until I can afford the upgrade.

    I don't see how the 635 is a downgrade to the 550
