Hi Everyone I call for the help of the great NNG community to help me on a really wierd problem with my laptop I have a geforce g74sx-a1 laptop and for some reason the screen seems to no longer be able to render the white. Let me explain : The computer seems to work perfectly since i can plug in another monitor and everything works on the other monitor but everytime something to Bright or White is displayed on the screen my laptop screen just shut down ... In a normal case i would just says that the monitor is dead and be over with it but it happened few weeks ago and after ive stress test the laptop to see if it was a GPU problem the screen came back slowly but never stopped working again since then ... Both time this problem occured the laptop was stored for a couple hours in a backpack next to a freezer, the backpack wasnt cold or anything but could it be something that messed with the screen ? Before anyone say anything the laptop is out of warranty so i cant just ship it back or anything and i would love if i could find the problem without having the change the monitor entirely so... anyone got any idea ?
So, when the screen turns off, hold up a light to the screen and see if you can see anything on it. It could just be the backlight that's failing. If that's the case then it could be the screen or the inverter. I would replace the inverter first as they're usually pretty cheap.
