First of all I would like to say hello, love the clan so far. Only really active in minecraft at the moment because I have a craptop. Thus brings us to the topic.

I am going to start building my computer pretty soon and I would like some opinions on some parts. I am looking to spend about 1600 good old american dollars on this rig.

I would really like to focus on a good, large, manly case >=). But seriously, I would like a larger case then a case that "works". I trust you guys and I appreciate all suggestions! I really want to play planetside 2 with everyone >.<

Go INTEL for CPU chipset, NVIDIA for GPU, CORSAIR for RAM, OCZ for your SSD. COOLERMASTER makes awesome cases/powersupply combos. If you want hydrocooling for your CPU get a CORSAIR H- Model.

for a case i would snuggest the Antec P280. Granted i am a minimalist when it comes to my cases, but i dont need one that looks like industrial art and i dont need a big glowing blue night light sitting on my desk.

i've built several computers over many years and this was one of the easiest builds I've ever had. the only thing that would of made it easier is if it had a removable mobo tray.

You could build two decent gaming rigs for that man, are you looking to get a monitor and all the peripherals aswell? With this budget you'll be able to assemble a beauty, also go with everything Jaamaw said and add getting a seagate HDD to that list.

No, I have two HD LCD monitors around 19 inches so those will do fine, I have a gaming keyboard and mouse so those are fine. Should I go hybrid SSD or HDD SSD separate?

Seperate, the hybrids are quirky to some extent and having a seperate drive for windows and everything else is very clean and organised. You should be able to pick up an SSD at 128gb for about 100, then a 7200RPM 2/3 tb drive for 100/150 marks, even cheaper is possible. For the SSD I'd recomend only using it for windows and any game that you'll use often. Also never ever reformat a SSD, it wrecks it up, just delete it in file manager and let the SSD do the rest, the way they save things is different to a HDD so a normal reformat can screw them up.

Also that antec P280 case is a beast, it's on my list of next upgrades 'cause it can fit one of those monstrous XL-ATX boards,

TL;DR, Seperate all the way. Get 2 drives (Sitting here with 5, 6 and 7 are en route).

I OC my i5-3570k to 4.5 and it can equal an i7 easily. i7 series is not needed for gaming, it just makes your e-dick bigger
