    Ello all.

    For those of you that may not know me, I'm Linchpinn of the BF3 division, a BF3 admin, and I've recently been granted forum admin status as well.

    The first task I've taken on in my new position has been to pound out some issues in our recruitment policies & procedures. The following outlines this.

    1. If one wishes to join, they must first register to these forums.

    2. Once a registered member of these forums, one must fill out the application.

    3. A short time after the app is dropped, a recruitment officer will send a PM to the applicant notifying them that the app has been received, and that his/her review period has started.

    4. it is the duty of the applicant to join us in game and in TS as much as possible during the review process. A lack of doing so demonstrates a true lack of wishing to join the community.

    5. The core of the recruitment process is peer view. Once the thread for an applicant is placed in the review area, it is the duty of our members to provide feedback on the applicant.

    6. The results of the review period will determine if the applicant gains membership status or is rejected. Only after passing the review process is one permitted to ware the NNG tag in game, be granted the NNG usergroup in TS, be given the forum badge for the division the applicant applied for, and will be given members only forum access.

    7. Once granted these rights, and access to the member's only section of the forums is granted, the new recruit is thus expected to be a part of the review process for future perspective new members.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    The review process is were we've been having some issues in the past. There has been a general lack of participation in this process. This needs to change.
    The review process is in place to weed out bad eggs before they are granted membership status and could cause potential damage to our brand name's integrity.
    It is the duty of our community to pay attention to new people we play with BOTH in game and in TS. I ask our BF3 admin & PS2 officers to lead the way in placing more importance in our recruiting system. Now, I dont not expect every member to respond to every applicants review. But up till now there has been nearly zero participation on any level.
    There are differences in what makes a good perspective member depending on what division an applicant has applied for. For example, in PS2, the ability to support the group and perform duties assigned are qualities needed. likewise, in BF3, one must demonstrate respect for our server rules and care for fair & fun play. But there are qualities we look for that are universal, such as the ability to get along with the existing group, and represent the NNG tag in a respectable manor. As time goes on, NNG will grow and we will have our hands in more games. For each game, what we look for in a recruit for said game will be as different as the game itself. But the core of what makes a good NNG member will always be the same.
    Paying attention to those that have applied to join our community both in game and in TS, and reporting your findings in the applicant's review thread (be it positive or negative), is of the utmost importance. Granted, we could just let anyone slap the NNG tag on, and if they turn out to be a huge flaming asshole, we can revoke their membership. But if we were to do that, those not in our community can see such a person act in a manor that in that person's mind will cast NNG as a whole in poor light. To me, that is unacceptable. it is MUCH better to weed out bad people before they represent our community.
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    Applications get posted in the recruitment section of these forums. To avoid spam or needless strain on the recruitment officer(s), members can not post in the application threads. If you wish to show support to a friend that has dropped an app, it is permitted to 'like' an app thread.

    The review threads are located at the top of the member's only section of these forums.

    ANY AND ALL INFO placed in the members only section of our forums are not to be spoken of in company of non members. To do other-wise negates the whole reason of having a member's only section in the first place. Likewise, this applies to all posts made in a review thread. One should be able to speak his or her mind about applicants without fear of his/her comments being known by the person in question. With this in mind, before any new member is granted access to the member's only area, his/her review thread will be removed. This permits ALL of you to be able to speak freely.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    So, to conclude this post, I urge all of you to, again, pay attention to those wishing to join our community. Show your support for those you like, and please post any negative aspects you may have learned about the applicant so we can make informed decisions on who can and will become a member of our community.
    Sorry to make you sit through such a long post, and I think you for your time. Please feel free to post any questions/comments below.
    Maybe it's just because I'm primarily with the air squad, but after glancing at that list I recognize maybe one or two of the names, and haven't played with either enough to really pass a judgement :/
