Just something that has helped me. I have an Nvidia graphics card and haven't had any problems with crashes previously, but around the time of GU12 and Nvidia's driver update, I started having crashes just randomly. I ended up rolling back to the 314.22 drivers from the 320.49 version I updated to, and so far I've had no crashes.
Since GU12 every once in a while the game will freeze and everyone will keep moving in the same direction the were moving in no matter what. It usually stays like that for a minute and then speeds up. It's annoying but at the same time pretty funny seeing tanks floating threw the air spinning. As for your issue it seems you fixed it.
