Hey guys, Im looking for help in these 2 categories.

    1. I am a bit of a computer noob, and I don't know how to take a screenshot. Let alone how or where to save one. If anyone with a clue could show me how its done, I would greatly appreciate it. Ill even give you a "get away with fucking with Ajax for free" card good for avoiding my wrath if you mess with me :)

    2. I've heard a lot about core unlocking, and am curious if it affects my FPS in game, I currently run an I7 3770 and I am hearing guys getting better FPS than I am in game with I5's or is it my vid card that needs upgrading amd Radeon 5750 HD.
I have 16m of ram so I am good there and a 1TB HD so its not a mater of space. I want to get the maximum performance out of my system so Im turning to you guys who have a clue... Please teach this old dog a new trick or 2.

Thanks in advance to all willing to help out.

One way to take a screen-shot is to press the print screen button, then open paint and Ctrl+v.
It's probably not the smartest way to do it, but it works.

Planetside is weird. The pint screen button shoots just the desktop when in full screen. If you use steam, launch it thought the steam menu and f12 will be the screenshot key. I do not know the SOE launcher key.

As for your frames, I run a i5-3570k and a 660ti. So I doubt it's your CPU cores being parked as mine are still at stock settings. I would bet you need to upgrade the GPU. I think a 7770 is roughly $100 currently.

Go into settings, look under controls, general tab. Look for a setting that says "Start Image Capture". That's the screen shot button. Moronic, I know. Click it and assign it to "Print Screen". Print Screen is already assigned to something else, but that's useless. Now everytime you press Print Screen it'll dump a picture into your "Pictures" folder under you Windows user name

    ex. C:\Users\MrsTwinkleBottomAjax\My Pictures\Planetside 2\

As for core unlocking that's more for us people with AMDs. You can try to pop it into Ultra Graphics settings and see if it gives you a boost as it unloads more work onto your GPU. Can't hurt to try.

Core unparking helped out my performance a bunch with my i5 3570k. Here is a link to a complete explanation, its very easy. http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility

I'm just giving you a hard time because if you had 16mbs of ram your computer is from gateway and runs windows 95.

I have a quad core and had multiple locked by default because of Windows 7 64bit.

To unlock I followed this guide:

The improvement was quite noticeable a positively effected by FPS in all games.

    Give it a try!
