I would like to point out some things that most of us a aware of but since we have had a lot of new recruits (which is awesome) recently, this needs to be discussed.

We have posted a guide for Liberator pilots, I think that Disco has done an outstanding job and I have tried to contribute as well, so now you guys know what to do when you get behind the wheel of a Lib.
Now its time for the gunners to step up and make it count.

In NNG we do have few amazing pilots and we all know that its the gunners who actually get the kills and this is what the pilots expect. I'm personally afraid to even look at the amount of time that I have spent in the Lib and that stat doesnt exist to me :), so when I get a gunner, I do expect him to get me some exp for flying.

Our (pilot's) expectations from YOU are VERY VERY high so here is the list.

    -Spawn in as Engi
-Be able to hit enemy aircraft with a belly gun
-Keep spamming "Q", always make sure that you're spotting whatever your shooting at.
-If you're gunning a Zepher, make sure that you unload a full clip on your target.
-Dont fk up. Make sure that you're actually leading your targets, especially if shooting at the vehicle.
-Dont question your pilots moves. Your pilot can see a lot more than you can and there is simply no time for your pilot to explain why he does what he does. Just go with it.
-When a pilot is asking for a gunner, SAY YOUR NAME IN TS if you want to gun and get to the point ASAP. There are many times when I pull my Lib to bomb a specific area so the time is short. When I'm on the ground, I always pay attention to the sky and to where the enemy infantry is. If the sky is somewhat clear and there is a lot of infantry I can kill, I will get my Lib and go for it. Even if I dont get a gunner, I know for a fact that I can get 10-20 kills by going solo.
-When shooting at deployed Sunderers, dont shoot directly at it but at the infantry around it. Always look for the burster MAXs, trust me, after a few shots there will be some and those need to go down ASAP.
-Always keep on eye on where your pilot is taking you. Look for the tip of the front landing gear and make sure that your gun is pointing the same direction.
-Practice as much as you can with hitting ESFs with a belly gun. I know that I have said that before but this is very important. Have faith in your pilot. He will get you in a position to shoot. Either belly up or nose down and break. We do this all the time.
-Only use tailgun while running away from the ESFs, most of the time your pilot will tell you when to switch seats, dont do it on your own unless you really have to. Its all situational but we dont want to aim with the belly while you're sitting in the tail.

    FINALLY:
Ask Phragg for some tips, bribe him with some Station Cash if you have to :)
Watch Jamaaw's bombing videos and take a look at the Lib pilot's guide if you dont already have.
If you're new at gunning, dont be afraid to let the pilot know. We dont mind teaching people and helping them out as long as they listen and follow instructions. Take constructive criticism for what its worth. We will not insult you or try to make you feel bad if you make mistakes as long as you learn from them.
If you need to get a hug while being bitchslapped, talk to Ajax. :)

Good luck, have fun, feel free to post here if you have any questions.

Very well put together, gunning is an active position and not just E-Z mode. It requires skill to be awesome.

I for one LOVE gunning for libs, however I don't have much experience doing so. I believe that having a pilot and a gunner that are in cohesion with each other is EXTREMELY important. And I would love to practice gunning with someone, so that when libs are needed, we are available and lethal. If anyone wants to fly with me, that would be extremely appreciated, and would love to work with you.

What I would recommend is getting your own Lib as well. Cert it out with all the basics that will make a big difference.
All you have to care about is your up time with your pilot. Considering today's environment, sometimes you get shot down as soon as you take off so when your pilot's Lib goes down, you can spawn your own and switch seats. We all do it all the time.
Let me know if you're going to need help with certing it out and the buy order.

PlayDoh, hop in my lib any time. Im still working on certing out the reload times and airframe but its worthy practice for both of us.

Considering the timing of this post I'm probably at least partially responsible for its creation.

I certainly need training on hitting Mosquitoes with the belly gun. If anyone can offer that I will appreciate it very much.

And a breakdown of the best order in which to cert out a Lib to pass off to a pilot and the minimum for it to be worthwhile would be a big help too.

I'm new here but eager to learn.

    Thanks!

really there is no "best" way to cert out a lib its all a matter of personal preference and combat situation
What mostly matters is that your flying style is conducive to your loadout
    IE
Zephyr's should come in low and hard pound what they can and mostly gtfo
Dalton's can sit @ 900m and pick off tanks from 2 hex's away
And the shredder is well useful vs armor @ close range and if you can hit infantry kills them fairly quick makes short work of other aircraft thou

Personally I prefer High G airframe , Afterburners, and Nanite repair systems
But I have seen equally effective liberators using Precision bomber, composite , and flares
or even Racer , stealth and fire suppression

Again it's just a matter of how you fly and what you are flying into
