Is anybody else having issues with the in-game voice chat? Ever since the big patch you guys sound like a bad remix. My Teamspeak works just fine. But the in-game chat is nothing but noise. I've actually turned it off for now because I couldn't hear TS over it. Am I the only one? I know my rig is under minimum requirements (tax return will be here soon!), but it's never had this issue before.
Ingame chat is MORE broken than usual since GU2, you are not alone. For me it has never really worked. Sometimes I hear people sometimes not, sometimes it's garbled sometimes not.
Pretty much when someone says maybe a 5-second transmission I hear them for 10+ seconds ("G-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-go-go-go-go-go-Rash-Rash-Rash-Rash *head explodes*). Now have a bunch of people sending short messages in chat. It was a very out-of-tune chorus. As long as people keep the waypoint updated I'll be fine. We'll see if the new processor I get soon will fix it or not.
VOIP servers are not on the same server as the game server. Sometimes VOIP gets too cluttered and it overloads.
And this is why we use TS. Its a perfect main chat thing, for little info in the genereal game area like a kill you got or you need to report to your SL, thats what we use VOIP for.
Oh I use TS every time. But what some leaders do is: TS> "So maybe we should attack the Crown... But they're being attacked at the Bio Lab... " VOIP> "Everybody grab armor and go for the Crown." Me> ... What?
Odds are that isnt an officer leading saying that. All the officers say what is needed in TS, then repeat it in VOIP so the people who dont know how to get into TS (because theyre a derp) know what to do
You're right. It's only a couple of non-officers who have had to temporarily take the lead. For the most part I'm not missing VOIP since I've turned it off. Still it's weird how it just suddenly blew up on me.
