So my Turtle Beach HPA2's are really pissing me off. At random they let our a loud, horrifying, screaching noise. The only way to fix it is to turn them off and repower them. For over $100 I'm completely dissapointed in them. I'm going to hold them by the chord and smash them into the ground rodeo style when I settle on a new set. I've heard some really good things about the Astro sets, and also some of the Razer sets. Could anyone out there chat about their experiences with headsets? Here is what I'm eyeballing right now: http://www.astrogaming.com/wireless-systems-1/a40-wireless-systems/a40-wireless-system-480 PS: I'd really like to go wireless.
I use a Bluetooth mic and just regular old computer speakers.... well they are nice speakers. But you get the point. Its super simple and wireless! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketf...dset/1011437.p?id=1218208321071&skuId=1011437
Im curious as to your review lol. I had them as well, and sound quality was positvely low end for anything other than blaringly loud gaming, in which case it does handle it well and the surround is pretty nice. (Astros are virtual 5.1 not actual)
Ghost I know its easy to be pulled in by their sexy presentation. They are built like a tank, and very good quality physically speaking, but if you dont JUST care about them being for a gaming setup, I would look elsewhere. If you do just want a AAA gaming headset, then look no further than the Astros. The Mic alone on it is worth it when considering for a gaming setup. Very good mic quality and excellent noise cancellation. And the ammount of customization in ways you can set it up is pretty damn sweet. Keep in mind though you have to use the Optical input on the amp to get the 5.1 surround. Can not get it through the Coaxial digital.
I would recommend something like this. An audiophile level headset, and then just run your own PC mic from best buy or something lol.
