Thanks for the opportunity to try out for NNG, you guys have been great and the TS banter is awesome. Unfortunately I am far behind in skills since this is my first aviation game and I think I need to find a squadron that has some kind of process for bringing new flyers up to speed.

    Respectfully,

    Benny

Benny, I think you don't need to look for another squadron to find that. When I'm online, I'm always happy to take new pilots into a custom match to teach them new things, train with them, and even try new things out together. I know Highlander and Ernst are the same way. Likewise, we're always happy to fly lower tiers to help you get better planes.

As well, it's been my intention lately to begin instructional flights with new guys (scheduled events). I guarantee you if you stick around, people will be more than happy to help you out. I can get on right now if you'd like.

I've seen you sitting alone in the training channel for quite a while. You will learn more if you fly with other people. If you treat this game as a challenge, watch your own replays sometimes, see what you did right and what you did wrong.

If you still choose to leave NNG, you can still come and fly with us.

    Good luck.

I must respectfully disagree with you Benny, and I hope you change your mind about leaving NNG. One of the things I like most about this group of pilots is the fact that they are always willing to "tier down" to allow newer players to fly with them. That act alone is somewhat instructional, as flying with them and watching their tactics has proved to be very helpful to me. I am certainly nowhere near as good as these guys, but I feel that my flying has improved greatly in the short time I have been associated with NNG.

It is easy to get discouraged when these guys are racking up kills and we are dying without getting any, but they have been at it much longer than we have. Personally, I plan on taking up the offers of Winds, Ernst, and Highlander to get some one-on-one time to learn specific tactics and maneuvers.

So, again, I hope you reconsider. Either way...best of luck bro.

Personally, I think you should stick with NNG for awhile........The most effective way to get better is to fly with guys who ARE ALREADY better than you.....watch, listen and learn. That's what I've been doing, and with guys like Nraged and Ferryman helping me out of my "lone wolf' mindset into a more goal- oriented 'team play' setting.......hell, I'm twice as good as I was 2 months ago, and I still have alot to learn as last night can attest to.....

What everyone else in the WT said.

In the brief time I decided to appear in the WT channel wanting to learn how to fly with a wingman (Very important for SC! lulz), they were willing to teach me and tier down (Because honestly, I have crap planes in T1/T2 and still don't play often.) so I can fly with these guys. Honestly, while I couldn't get my kill fix, I LEARNED how to survive. I figured in time, if I decide to pop in more often, I would eventually get as good as these guys.

It still hasn't made me move away from PS2. (Don't try to drag me over plz! D=) And also, even if you were wearing a different tag (like me), you're still welcome to fly with us and have fun while doing it.

Honestly, I think you should stick with these guys longer and see what you think. Still, if you decide to leave, good luck!

EDIT: Also, I think you should ASK. I'm still having trouble sometimes doing this! Just ask and someone will be willing to show you the ropes!

    Showing the ropes

It doesn't matter what game mode you play, they key factors are still the same. Teamwork and communication.
You know what my wingman got from all of this? A beat up fucking plane that he was barely able to bring back to the airfield and repair, but this entire time when I was chasing people, I didn't have to worry about checking my six and when he got jumped, I peeled that Pony off his six.

The best way to learn is to fly. FLY FLY FLY, you cant cut corners here.
Spend as much time in the air as you can, there is no better school than that :)

Just to let you know, the grass is definitely not greener out there. While some squadrons have developed training programs for newer flyers, none that I've seen have the chemistry and positive interaction that NNG players have. And in the end that's what really counts.

Kudos to NNG and its player base.
