Maybe a 2 week trial period or even a month for starters, this would give people more time to show their true comittment to the game. That and once accepted an email explaining that some sort of activity level should be kept, if not we would like an email letting us know that youll be away for an extended period of time.. On the recruitment thread lets mention activity level and that we are not looking for " parking lot" recruits, we want people who join to play alongside us and be an active part of our community.

    This help?

    OK heres my proposal
    1. Pilot Level 10 minimum ( which is about a week of active playtime), although special consideration will be made for lower level pilots who show that they will be committed to us.
    2. One Month trial after which we either vote or if the candidate is endorsed by at least 3 members.
    3. Any pilot who is inactive for more than a month without notifying an officer will be removed from the squadron (we want to have an active community of members), you can always ask for reinstatement at a later date.
    4. Pilots are required to use teamspeak... I see way too many new recruits on line playing with NNG tags and are never on TS... Kinda hard to communicate.
    5. See the rest of the No nonsense rules...

    thoughts?

@Kowlefe makes some great points about what NNG stands for and that imposing requirements based on skill or rank may be perceived incorrectly. But on the alternate, what @Nraged is trying to implement is a system that prevents people from joining NNG merely because they can. And let's be honest, if you're 21, have a computer a headset and aren't an asshole, you can join NNG.

If requiring a bit of a threshold on the WT side is something that will strengthen the community and illustrate that we take what we do here somewhat seriously, I think it could be beneficial.

I like @Ajax setup and proposal, but I think a one month trial is a bit excessive. People may balk at that figure and instead migrate to a community that lets them in a bit more quickly. Just a thought.

All around though, this is a good discussion and anything that creates more standards and guidelines around how we operate as a good thing. There are only good intentions in this thread. Good shit!

I feel if you really want a limit, it should be around 5. My pilot level is 8 and I've been off and on for the past year.

The biggest issue that we have to remember with war thunder is that it is not entirely complete so we can all just play air. That leads to very repetitive gameplay so unless you are genuinely interested in playing the game where you do almost the same thing every game, then power to ya. But, to many it is a game that can burn out quickly to them. Players will be off and on with the game for that sole reason.

While you are recruiting with war thunder in mind, remember you are also recruiting for the community aswell. That meaning even if they are in your division for a short period, they may find a greater interest in another division or even found a new division or bring something great to the community.

You also have to remember though, you cannot compare yourself to a new recruit since you are already a member of NNG through other games an active one as well as a major participant in the NNG community. We are taking about fresh new faces who are not part of the NNG community (yet)

My thinking on 1 month is for them to actually get a good look at us. Lets face it, after a week or 2 we are usually decided on if they will make it or not. By making it a month (which was shorter than I had to wait when I joined :P we are giving the recruit the time to see if they wish to stay with us or even want to continue to play the game itself. If they wish to apply to other divisions while on that trial, great, we have someone who wants to be a part of NNG as a whole, and not some schlump who is just looking for easy squadron tags in game

I was also thinking about kind of reversing the joining process a little.
Before they can apply to squadron in game, they have to put up an application on our forums. This will eliminate a lot of dead weight.
This is the way I see it. If they cant take 5 minutes out of their busy day and join our forums and tell us about themselves, they don't deserve to be here in a first place. 2 reasons.
1- we want new recruits to respect NNG and be willing to become a part of the community
2- if they're too elitist to put up an app, they don't belong here.

Judging by the quality, quantity and levels:
Most of the players who have been removed were under pilot rank 10
Most of them haven't put up an application
Latest New Recruits who have put up their apps, their majority are still with us, turned out to be really good addition to the team and they're fun to play with.

Now lets go step by step

    1 - application
2 and 3 can be switched around
2 - play for 2 weeks with us
3 - join the squadron and wear NNG tags in game and in TS

Pretty simple but see what I did there?

Yes, that right there is how it goes for the other divisions.

I know I am already a member but imagine I wasn't and I wanted to join. I am not a good enough pilot to make up for my low level and I doubt that will get me into the group.
