so as it turns out, my head is not up my ass.
The white ink I have been using is very hard to work with.
Tonight I tested out my black ink and it was very easy to get a good print.
It was so good in fact, that you can see where the transparency is scratched. I would have made a new one but my computer's printer is out of ink. I paid $16 for ink and it lasted about 2 weeks or about 7 print outs or 3 shirts...so yesterday I ordered 3 more and they should be here in 2 to 5 days.
What sucked about tonight is the black ink is a lot harder to clean up than the white ink. My bath tub was covered with black spots until I got the steel wool to grind the ink out.
I am glad things are coming along. Its not the quality I want it to be yet, but we are getting there.

Edit: oh and BTW, this was only 2 passes. Normally I should have done twice as many passes of ink to make the black a much darker color but it looked good so I did not want to mess up a good thing....

    We kicked some ass today!
I learned why the white ink was not looking very good.
1 - I adjusted the standoff distance of the screen above the shirt and the angle of the pitch of the screen. This makes the ink more even on the shirt.
2 - I thinned out my ink using retarder/reducer. This makes the ink flow though the screen smoother.
3 - I used more pressure applying the ink. This forced more ink onto the shirt. I am warned against pushing too hard but so far the harder I push, the better the shirt looks.
Photos of the 2nd set up and 5th shirt.
By far the best white ink shirt thus far. I still feel the black ink makes a sharper print. The white ink is not as bright as I would like but we are getting better everyday.

There are 3 blemishes on the shirt. The top one is due to poor screen exposure, the bottom one is due to me failing to tape up all the open areas and I am not really sure what caused the middle one. We think is was from not using enough emulsion on the screen.

I'm going to report you to the feds for child labor!

Seems like printing shirts isn't about the art going on the shirts as much it is about the "art of printing shirts". Every time you post you get a bit closer! :)

I'm thinking we should start a donation pool that goes specifically to you for the shirt printing stuff. I have no business receiving any funds via all your hard work. /coffee

Do what you love and the money will come.
I am not looking to make money, only cover costs.
I have not forgotten my reason for starting all this was to put money in your pocket to cover all the costs you and Oreo fork out for all of us.
I also wanted to have extra for any special needs NNG may have.

What would be the possibility of getting a sweatshirt that had Circuit Board Camo as the design and then the NNG emblem on the shoulders. I would pay top dollar for such a thing.

Dying fabric and making clothing is a whole different ball game...but I will look into it....
I did have this crazy ass idea of making custom Vanu armor suits for NNG to use at the next SOE LIVE....I found a company in New York that can do it....for around 3 to 15 thousand dollars each....So If they can make Vanu armor, I bet some company somewhere can make what you are looking for.

Yes, I have a few and there will be more. If you or anyone wants a failed shirt, please send me your address and I will send you one. Right now I only have large size shirts.

    Step 1- find a shirt
Step 2- find a circuit board
Step 3- super glue circuit board to shirt
