FYI i am Nobomba and this is purely for discussion, my goal behind this is to maybe help everyone get more of what they are looking for from NNG.

    Here is the question:

A)How do you think/believe the platoons are run now.

    B) is this up to or beyond your exceptions?

    C) If improvements can be made, How and what are they?

    *MINE as a example*

A)How do you think/believe the platoons are run now. -

We currently run 24/7 Casual ops. These are great for the majority and fun for picking up and playing with everyone. Plus they are really social and relaxing.

    B) is this up to or beyond your exceptions?

I didn't have to many coming in, but how friendly and relaxed the environment was while stilling getting things done was a good thing to see.

    C) If improvements can be made, How and what are they?

I like casual ops as much as the next guy. However i see a potential within NNG and being myself letting such potential simply fade away unnoticed or underutilized would be a quite shame. I see NNG during the prime hours not rely on our numbers but rather superior organization and team play to fight all of our favorite enemy outfits both TR/NC alike.

So as a step one i would like to see a time slot maybe 2-3 times a week or nightly that we run beyond casual, where we can lock it in and play 110% and still have fun with it. Even if it is simply for only 1,2 or even 3 hours a night, it would benefit the outfit greatly.

This could be my own opinion but This is why i raise the question to you all.

Are you ready to step it up or are you content with what your doing now?

-Jaamaw/Phragg: This goes in line with playing similar to how i played that one morning with you both.

Lets stop talking about stepping it up and lets start taking steps to step up.

    A) successfully - we recruit good players daily and almost always find the best fights when possible

Casually is the single word to describe our day to day ops, I see the same potential for our talents and traits to go further and be more effective.

    B) beyond expectations! I was around in Beta and didn't even have teamspeak. Now I find myself in the think of multi platoon ops and inter faction rivalry!

    C) I remember from the meeting we have a goal of 1000+ active members, this is mind - blowing and very daunting. We will need the infrastructure to support and provide these players with fun times and good community.

Every time I think i've seen what there is to see in planetside NNG surprises me again and again. My best experiences here have been in this outfit and I hope to see us grow in strength and wisdom.

I'd agree with "casually." Things seem to go the best when we chunk up the TS and kick pubs out, but obviously most of the time we're open for recruiting and more casual play.

The community is beyond my expectations - there is very little personal drama, everyone seems friendly, chill, and ready to have fun. I've very happy with that aspect of it all.

Squad performance is probably below my expectations, but my first outfit (and exposure to the game) was a VERY small group with highly micromanaged ops, so I understand that my expectations are colored by that.

I think more communication about expectations from a leader would go a long way. I know each leader likes to play a different way, and sometimes as followers/normal players, we might not recognize or remember that. E.g. is it acceptable for members to peel off and cap adjacent spaces, or for this op do we need everyone to be exactly where they're told to be. It would be helpful if a platoon or squad leader could say (or put in the squad names) whether they're doing casual farming stuff, special ops quick-hitting stuff, focusing on air or vehicle tactics, etc.

I also think we need to be diligent about managing the voice comms - if we have any squads split up on the map, they should either be in separate channels, be encouraged to use in-game chat, or members should be taught how to give calls that make it clear where they are. Anything else leads to needless confusion. I've lost count of the times that I've scrambled around a base expecting, say, enemy armor, but in the end it turns out that the call was for a different squad. :(

I see a need for more information about who/what our officers are and expect.

OK, I have to put my two pennies in.

Disclaimer: This post is not aimed at anyone in specific.

I see 4 things that HAVE to happen ASAP or this is going to fall on it's face:
    1. Squad cohesion. Y U NO LISTEN ME? If you are not at the waypoint, trying to get there, or doing what your SL/PL has asked of you, why are you even here? Too often I see us back off from a hex due to not enough reinforcement from our own platoon members, when we could have SMOKED them had the squads been operating as a UNIT. Know your role, and do it well. If you don't know your role, ask your SL/PL what he wants you to do and do it RIGHT THEN, not after you finish your uber-leet kill streak with your overpriced Manticore at The Crown.
    2. Manners. People talking over one another is nonsense and has got to stop. See those other channels in TeamSpeak? They are there for a reason. We have Channel Commander for a reason. We have PS2 Officers whom are able to set themselves as CC for a reason. Also, let's all try to be a bit more friendly to people, yeah? Barking orders in a brash tone will only make matters worse. Be assertive, yet remain polite.
    3. STOP making calls to switch 40+ men to another continent to fight off 7 BR3s, just because another outfit requested help over command chat. Evaluate the situation before asking your platoon to abandon thousands of resources tied up in vehicles just to warp to a nearly empty continent and ghost cap with 3 other outfits, seeing 5 enemies every half hour. 10% off resources for a cap is moot if we just wasted thousands to go there in the first place - and it pisses a LOT of people off.
    4. If you are asked to redeploy so that we can MAX crash/Tank Column/Air Wave/Etc it should not take more than 3 minutes for everyone to redeploy, get kitted up, and in place to move out. (Under normal circumstances, those currently in a vehicle when the call is made are exempt from redeploying unless specifically called upon to do so by your SL/PL within reason.) Yesterday, Officer Daredevil called a redeploy and like 3 showed up in the first 5 minutes out of a nearly full platoon. Come on guys, let's get it together. Our platoon is full of skilled members, 1 of us equals roughly 3 to 4 of the enemy. We can annihilate them on a whim, but we have GOT to get our shit together.

    A) How do you think/believe the platoons are run now.
-Overall skill level in NNG is great
-We have some truly exceptional officers and some that should take the role more seriously (e.g., your actions set the tone)
-We are slowly learning to tighten up our structure and processes but there are lots of gaps

    B) Is this up to or beyond your expectations?
Put it this way: NNG is the only outfit I want to be in but being who I am I expect consistent improvement over stagnation

    C) If improvements can be made, how and what are they?
-Our focus on in-game strategy alone won't bring us to excellence - I think we require more organizational/structural strategy (especially if we're taking in 1000 members)
-Decide if we want to run in-game training sessions more frequently. Realize that the intention of these is not to simply train but to build squad cohesion and identify strong leaders & candidates
-Determine if we want to separate our overall membership into pools:
---New recruits work in platoons with senior members that are OKd to train while a separate senior member pool runs advanced/tight operations
    or
---One pool for all members. Certainly more inclusive but will have growing pains that we are seeing now (1/3 follow orders)

These are just some options in a list of many. Brainstorming is fun.
