Honestly, recruiting via stats seem like a bad thing imo.

But yeah, it's better to focus on RETENTION. After all, there are casual and competitive players on both sides on NNG, but we're overall a community that loves to play together and not encounter any of that BS that's been going on in other outfits.

    The Past:

We used to run more casual platoon with pugs. We found that it was a boost to recruitment but at the same time limited the abilities of the platoon. As you can imagine, the old players became frustrated playing with the new players for many reasons. For a time, there was division in the outfit and it was at this point where the outfit defined what NNG is in Planetside 2 and where NNG was going to go. Casual open platoons stopped as the need for recruitment dropped off.

    Today:

NNG rarely runs open platoons and everyone seems to be happy. NNG is growing in members and to better our members, NNG holds team building sessions and private classes are found in forum post from private teachers. NNG is now a part of all 3 factions. I cannot say how often NC and TR platoons run open squads, because I don't not know well enough. At this time, NNG runs a recruiting platoon (once a week I think). NNG is an open community that accepts just about anyone. The Planetside 2 division has a recruitment policy that is intent on weeding out players that do not really want be NNG.

    Tomorrow:

NNG is seeking to get as many good people as we can from the merge. NNG has a focus on professional style play and is looking to fill the ranks of our professional team.

I think that supporting the bigger picture of the game is truly an awesome aspiration! I support the idea of helping new players but request caution be used as to not disrupt the game play of the main platoon. I request a Community Service Platoon sign up list be made and before the assembling of a platoon, a confirmed leader must be established and the platoon will be active for a pre-determined length of time. Any NNG member could volunteer to lead the platoon but pre-approval by the faction leader would be necessary to ensure a high quality experience to the new players in the platoon.

Thank you for this inspiring post Xiander!

I really like some of these ideas. My post was just a general idea to help address a problem I have seen in PS2, but you really added some context and some more specifics to the idea that I didn't really think of. Thanks for the ideas, we have a bit of time before the Merge to get all the details hammered out but I think this is definitely the direction it should move in.

WEll if Ajax can come back to WT then I suppose I can lend some time back to my favorite game. If needed I could lead a recruitment platoon on certain nights

I still open up the TR squad to pubs at times. Most people that I see joining have reached out to us or shown an interest directly. I never turn down friend requests or squad invites, and spend time in other platoons as well.
