Ok you Lib whores. After flying one around and gunning in one for most of last night I think this is going to be one of the things I would like to focus certs on. Im sitting on about 270 certs atm. I already have the big bad ass canon for it with optics and an ammo upgrade. Where do I spend my hard earned certs next?
I think the Dalton w/ Night vision is the best as you can quickly see what needs to die. Zoom doesn't help as much for quick reaction firing in my opinion. I even put nigh vision on my BullDog and 50 cal on my sunderer.
As one of those guys who likes shooting liberators out of the air, here's some things you may want to consider: Mobility = survivability The afterburner on the liberator costs a lot, but it knocks your survivability up by a ton. For the liberator, I'd suggest speed or maneuverability. Either or, as you can bait enemy ESF with it and get away. The most damage done to you from the ground will most likely be burster MAXes, skyguards or AA rockets. If you are moving, most can't hit with the regular unguided rocket. This ties in with the mobility discussed earlier. Since the Lib is tough as is, breaking line of sight with a sudden burst of acceleration, ala the afterburners will cut down on the time you're exposed. The default pea-shooter on the back does little to fend off a single fighter Unless you have someone who can land shot after shot consistently with this thing, a number of fighter pilots can and will get into the back turret's blindspots very, very quickly. I wouldn't suggest certing into the basic turret, though I'll have to check again to see what turrets would be better. If there's a dedicated AA one, get that and give it some ammo. The worst position an enemy fighter can be is above and behind you, and the most dangerous carry rocket pods This is why I don't consider flares as good in the liberator. Pilots flying AA missiles will not do as much to a liberator due to the lockon, while a rocket carrying ESF will shred you very quickly. Certainly, lockon missiles do a lot of damage, but ultimately they shouldn't be the deciding factor in killing you.
