I'm using a really nice 24" Dell but would like to get something bigger and better for Planetside, War Thunder and especially Star Citizen. As Mayo says, my eyes aren't what they used to be and the planes are pretty dam small in WT (ya I know about the zoom).. For me though, a 42" TV is out of the question as I game at a desk. I'm thinking 27 - 32 I don't want to go too big and regret it though.

Also I have trouble seeing at night on Planetside and see that BenQ's have a special blackness enhancer where it shows blacks much better. Do most gaming monitors have this feature? BenQ's only go to 27"'s so maybe that's a clue to not go any larger. Phaedo says "you don't need to get a Benq" I assume he means there are lots of other brands that do the same job.

Well there is a point when getting a certain size monitor is foolish when you can get a TV that size and cheaper. I personally use a BenQ and I love it, The blackness part is something I love, I can actually see things now without that god aweful glare that make my monitor become a mirror.

For a 27 inch monitor, BenQ had a good one on NewEgg right now for $220. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014300

I can't see worth shit at night on Planetside. Tried turning up the brightness and that looks like crap. Ajax I bet I'm older than you. My eye sight started going a year ago, the same time to nearly the week as my wife, best friend and his wife's started to go. Its eye strain from 29 years of looking at a monitor. I guarantee you will play better on a larger monitor. Jump up to a 24 and then look at your 21. I've got my old CRT sitting next to my 24 and I can't imagine how I was happy with it for all those years and thousands of hours.

27 inch Samsung LED. 5ms response time and since you getting
"OLDER" haha you can set the gama and brightness to adjust during low res times or pixelation changes. The adjustment macros on this are amazing. Any thing above 27 inch is kinda compensation( hahah MAyo)!

27 or 32 is as big a monitor as i would go for the time being. You go much over 27 and 1080 starts to get fuzzy fast. Until 4k comes down in price and HDMI can keep up with the refresh rate of 4k, I'm not getting anything over 27in.

i know Mayo loves his 40 something but i think he's just blind or cant read anyway...

I lied on my profile. I'm 8 years older than you  I played Tele Pong when it first came out...in black and white, then it came out in color!

Before that the only interactive screen was called an Etch-A-Sketch. That was state of the art analog shit man
