External Applications?

There was talk, once upon a time, or a host of "external applications" for PS2.

The ability to view maps in real-time outside the game. Chat with your Outfit, and more. Allegedly this was going to be on the website, as well as on your favorite Android or iOS device.

I didn't see much word on this during the beta - did anyone else catch any news I may have missed? Do we know if these features will work at launch? (I doubt it, but I remain hopeful.)

 

I hadn't heard of this, but it sounds really cool. It could be that they simply pushed it back to get the core experience down first. They may release it after some time has passed and the launch jitters are gone.

 

I search information about it everywhere but no one seems to know anything. I really hope to get the option to download it in 1 hour when PS2 gets available for download, but those are just hopes U_U. I dont believe it will be ready for the launch U_U

 

It looks like the feature is "coming soon" - if you're on the PlanetSide 2 website, there's a section called "Players".

That will eventually lead to Planetside 2 Players. From there we'll likely have a host of features like I mentioned above (and I suspect several of those will be reserved for members - or worse, carry their own ala carte fees. )

Hmmm. Interesting, but seems pretty hit-or-miss. I couldn't find stats for a couple of my friends, or Jaamawz.

 

I can't speak for your friends, but Jaam dropped the z after beta :ninja:
