When do you guys plan on running that 5th ed game, and how many spots are open of any? I have potentially 3, maybe 4 that are looking to play. Our local group is on hiatus until winter is over.

I've played D&D twice in my life, I remember it being fun. Although I don't remember a damn thing about the rules or classes.. I would be open to playing, though you would have to deal with my incessant noobie questions.

Hard to say how many spots would be open. He has already got myself, Gavald, Icebalm, Phaedo and MysticDrew.
And to help you out OkolePooka, here are the basic rules for D&D [link]. And don't worry about pirating, these rules are free from Wizards of the Coast themselves.

It may be worth seeing if any experienced players want to DM for us newbies who want to get their feet wet, so to speak. Maybe just run low-level modules or something.

Well the starter set is going for around $20USD and it comes with everything a newbie would need.
