I believe there was a post about this in Off topic, but I had to repost.

I recently went on vacation to Europe and had no internet connection on my MSI notebook. So decided to start playing Crysis 2 campaign and I really started getting into it, the story line is not to bad and environments are pretty amazing. I am almost done the campaign, seems like it was the core of the game as there wasnt too much focus on MP.

I am the only one excited about Crysis 3? A jungled out NYC... sounds crazy.

Engine = unparallelled, even by Frostbite 2.
Gameplay = Sorry we spent to much time on the engine.

I see your point, it can be repetitive. The story is cool though, and I am big on graphics and environments so I guess for me it can make up for some of the gameplay.

I enjoyed the original Crysis a ton up until the aliens came out to play. That epic battle in the Harbor, moving into that camp to rescue the scientist, the giant tank battle in the valley. All epic and amazing scenes where they just let the engine run wild and got great results. I remember distinctly one of the best things about it was the AI and how they reacted to you in an open world. You could evade them, they would track you, surround you, flank you. They were fantastic. In Crysis 2, they shrunk the areas down so much that you never really got that same experience, and they upped the alien theme. Boo.

They've got all these fantastic building blocks in terms of AI, graphics, physics, and sound, but they seem to have too many coders and not enough gameplay designers. Similar to Bohemia, the makers of ARMA, they spend so much time on technical aspects they sometimes neglect the "fun" aspect.

If that one mod that was doing a kind of BF theme moves to 3, I'll be all over it. Perhaps Warface will end up being great, but I'm skeptical.

Just got a chance to watch the video. I stand corrected. /bruised That looks like quite a big area, and I also dig the organic knockdown effect that the missile had on Prophet. Lets hope that wasn't scripted!
