I found this little article interesting. And may be something to take into consideration if you're not planning on utilizing Nvidia's impending G-Sync 1st Quarter of 2014.

Basically, for half the price, AMD's new card that just hit the shelves is offering comparable performance. Of course, we'll see what the 800 series from Nvidia brings in the next year.

My very first gaming PC had a ATI Radeon card, and I hated it so much, replaced it within 6 months, and at that time it was actually supposed to stack up to the competition. I currently use it as an ash-tray. Have been using Nvidia stuffs ever since and haven't really had any issues. BUT, if it hadn't been for just SLIing my 2 670s together yesterday, I may have looked into actually switching to AMD.

(Using a 4-5 year old monitor too, might be considering purchasing a G-Sync monitor. Apparently, certain models of Asus monitors will be able to upgrade using a stand-alone kit without having to actually purchase a whole new display. Fancy.

If you're unfamiliar with G-Sync, I refer you to @AngelicDunce 's first post in like a year.

I always had issues with my ATi cards back in the day. When I switched to NVIDIA I was blown away. Everything works so smoothly and their hardware partners are incredible. Long live EVGA!!!

My 280x has been working quite well on games and I have no issues. I kinda wish I has a ton of money to splerge on the 290x...
