Just wondering if any of you chaps out there play? If so what gear do you love or hate and what do you usually play with?
Myself I'm that lad in the ghillie suit who came out of freakin' nowhere.
Running a taurus PT99 full auto beratta style CO2 thing as secondary.
Primary is an SR-25 sniper rifle. It kinda goes against a traditional sniper in that I can switch it to full auto if needed, tend to stick to semi though. Also it's got one of them fancy night scopes, a foot worth of silencer and is fully camoed, cause ya know gotta be stealth.
On top of that I use my ghillie suit, love that thing. Planning on integrating a large style mag vest into it to make an assault/ghillie style loadout as there's a weekend long milsim coming up and I'm gonna need to live out of it for the 2 days.
Oh, I also tend to have 2/3 grenades with me and will bring a shotgun indoors for when the time calls for it, I find if the shotgun doesn't clear them tossing multiple grenades usually gets 'em out of cover.

    Best moment;
Playing a night game, on defense, primary out of ammo, secondary not working (bloody O-rings). 3 knife kills, with one guy going so far to ask "What team are you on?". Then getting confused as hell as to how he walked over me. Hilarious times, especially when the enemy team started the smoke grenades, made the camo even better. For the majority of the match a lad on the enemy team had been firing an m60 over the mound I was in. He eventually got close enough to talk out, took forever though.
We wound up winning that one, when time was called I jump up laughing maniacally and the enemy team are all like WTF? How the shite did he get there? Ah, good times.

Might as well post on this.

I run 7 mags in vest for woodland and about 3-5 mags for indoors cqb.
My primary is usually either my cqb prepped dboys pdw, reliable scar-l or favourite m4 (been a work in progress for ages but looks like the end goal is almost there).
Don't usually run a secondary, might if I get my co2 mag for my glock. Usually take out people close with semi-auto and have time to change mags otherwise.
Don't worry about camo too much because rushing ain't too stealthy. But I'll take the scenic route through the bushes and trees to flank when necessary for the drop on unsuspecting targets.

My best moment? Quite a few, usually when rushing an objective and ploughing through the defence when my team does nothing. One that springs to mind was playing a small lower/raise the flag game where I had to rush and kill the 2 best players on the enemy team of 4, they were both using systemas, and single handedly getting the flag and winning the game

Gonna bump this as I didn't want to start a new thread. Also some of our newer members may also be airsofters and didn't know who plays in the community.

This weekend I will be playing a 12 hour MILSIM event in a 100 acre woodland. I wouldn't mind something longer but it got shortened. It's only an hour away so I'll go anyway.

For the event I decided to get in the milsim mood and painted my AEGs for the first time this evening with a friend who paints all his airsoft things, even his pistol.

First up is my HK416 I custom made. I only got the barrel, RIS and upper and lower receivers. I had to get the other parts like flash hider, stock tube, butt stock, pistol grip, etc. myself.
Edit: I also had to get all the internal parts too.
The optic on top is an ACOG clone with 4x magnification with the regular mini red dot on top. This is like the scope used by Mike murphy and Dietz in the movie "Lone survivor". The silencer on the end is actually a quick detach as it screws onto a flash hider underneath.

    And the other side

I also did my backup AEG which is a M4 designed for a marksman role. The sight on top is an Elcan clone also with 4x magnification but with slightly shorter eye relief than the ACOG clone has. I don't quite have the proper RIS, extended barrel and scope to make it more like the Mk.12s used in "Lone Survivor". (I like the film, okay. The kit looks badass)

I hope that is some eye candy for some of you. I look forward to using them this weekend.

    :D AIRSOFT!!!

Easily one of my favorite pass-times. I usually play with my friends or try to go to an Airsoft field near me - unfortunately they are few and far between.

I currently am running a G&G FN F2000 with a circular reflex site (can double as a very bad laser) and a modded Flash suppressor. I use Airsoft Elite .25 bbs. I did have a 11v LiPO battery, however that burned out a few weeks ago. I wear fatigues, combat boots, and the mighty boony hat. I am planning on upgrading the internals with a tightbore barrel + a new motor.

I'll put up a few pictures when I get back home.

For getting back in shape, cross trainers are very good fitness machines. They are low impact for knees and such so you can do as much running and jogging with them as you like with out the risk of doing damage to weak areas like knees like you would with running on a treadmill or the road when you are hitting the ground with each step.

I have a G&G F2000 aswell but it is on the side as it is stuck firing full auto as the cut off lever is worn down too much, was probably filed too much by the previous owner. The part has to be ordered from the manufacturer and is 25 so I put it on the back burner. I bought it off an airsoft shop as a fixer-upper as it was 199 instead of 380. They said it only needed mag release fixed, it did but the previous owner had done a lot more than that. There was broken screw mounts in the body from when they tried to rip it open to get to the gearbox, there was a break in the wiring and there was an over the limit spring in it so I had to buy a new one to play at fields. And of course, they broke the cut off leverThose are the main problems I can remember. The thing was abused by an idiot who then turned it in to an airsoft shop for store credit for another AEG I imagine. I had to cut up a few cheap slings and sewn them back together to make my own DIY f2000 sling mount. It works quite well, is the proper type for it and help keep the body together as the screws can't be used any more. It looks like the one at the butt of this F2000:

As the F2000 is a G&G, it should have a 6.05 tightbore or maybe even 6.03 installed already as standard. The G&G green hopup rubber is also very good and included as standard. It is an upgrade for other AEGs. I would suggest checking the barrel to see that it is clean. You can hold it up to the light once you have removed the hopup and barrel from the body. You might see specs of grime on the inside. so get some kitchen towel or toilet paper and wrap it around one end of the unjamming rod that came with it. Only push it through as far as the hopup unit, not beyond it and out the other end. When you take it out you should see black dirt on the paper. Repeat until reasonably clean. If dirt is hard pressed in, use silicon oil to wet the paper and pass that through first, then dry and clean the barrel with fresh piece of paper. You can also check the barrel to see if the hopup rubber is worn. You will turn on the hopup and look down the barrel, a bumo will appear at the top, if it looks rough or looks as it parts of the bump are work down like holes, you need a new hopup rubber. If the barrel and hopup rubber are fine, you can also get a H-nub for very little money. I used to get 2 for €2 in my airsoft shop. It is a little plastic piece with the centre narrowed that replaces the standard nub in a hopup. This will cause it to create a flatter bump on the hopup rubber as opposed to the standard round bump. This will increase the area that the hopup contacts with the BB and can give it extra distance. I use a madbull phyton tightbore barrel, g&g hopup rubber and h-nub in my m4 and it work well. The important thing to remember is, barrel internal finish quality affects accuracy, hopup affects range. Unless a barrel is more than 200mm longer(7.87inches) it won't affect accuracy.

I also have a small KAC PDW I built for cqb. It was a cheap plastic one I got for 45 and scrapped the internals. I used spare parts, traded and bought a few small things and had a working AEG with AB mosfet shooting at 20BB per sec on a 7.4v lipo all with less than 100 spent on it. I had to upgrade the gearbox shell as the one I originally got from a friend had a bad mount for the anti-reversal latch so the gearbox could dangerously unwind and possibly damage the internals. I have to finish it one day but lost interest. I will do it as it is incredibly fun to have such a light AEG that you can wield with one hand and is so short you can manoeuvre very well. I can hold it flat across my chest and walk straight through a doorway with it so that I am aiming directly to the left or right of the door with the barrel raised as it is shorter than the width of a doorway. It also take m4 mags which I try to keep all my AEGs on and allows me to keep using my gear with m4 pouches.

This summer I was hoping to get a HK416 PTW if A&K had released their one as they had promised but it is looking unlikely. So I am considering getting a M249 SAW and setting up a support gunner loadout for MILSIM events instead this year once I get rid of more surplus AEGs and sidearms I have. The problem is, all the AEGs I want to get rid of have developed problems that need to be fixed and I have been lazy about fixing.

Should say, I have been airsofting for 4.5 years now and have been doing tech work for 4 of them. I used to be pretty involved with the Irish airsoft community on a forum but shut my account recently as it has been pretty dead and seemed to only be populated by grumpy old men. It was lowering my hope in our community so I left. 984 posts over 3.5 years.

This honestly makes me so so jelous. If i had any of that stuff in Australia i would go to jail for weapons and firearms offences as all airsoft rifles are banned and you are prohibited from owning or trying to import one into the country. For me to play airsoft i would have to travel to America or nearby new zealand (they cant have full auto). You guys have no idea how lucky you are. Appreciate what you have.

I first found out what airsoft was after watching one of levelcaps videos, then i you-tubed it and was just like fuck yes i want to do that for fun. Atleast something different to doing weights all the time. Then i found out we can't have it in Aus. Pretty dissapointed in my shitty government.

Damn so jelly. Have fun at the mil sim lads :)

It gets worse, Australia actually had a good airsoft community going a few years ago, like 5 or more. Then your government in their hatred of everything projectile launching related outlawed it and all the players had to stop. That is bad as they went out of the way to shut down something that was already established. Their even was a local news station did a report about airsoft and the players were promoting it as a fun and safe sport. It wasn't even in done in a bad light condemning it, it was positive and an "interest" story.

If your government could stop their desire to get rid of anything even resembling a gun ye might be able to get legislation passed for it.

In Ireland we have our own subsection in the Firearms law. It means we have to abide by black and white rules but we are safe so long as we act within them. The Netherlands actually legalised airsoft with setting out laws for it back in about 2013. Previously dutch airsofters would travel to nearby countries like Belgium and play.

Oddly enough, the best way to keep the sport safe is to get the government to approve specific laws.

I used to do alot of airsofting in North Carolina. I normally ran either a DBoys Full Metal SCAR-17 with suppressor and batbox, or my Javelin L96 with Bipod and 8x Scope. My secondary has, and always will be my KWA H&K .45 Tactical. I'd done a few milsim runs like Op Irene , but mostly stuck to NC area ones, like Fulda Gap.
