This years big releases are out there. So what's everyones pick?

For me its actually very hard to say.

Skyrim was excellent, but I could not get past the absolutely horrific voice actors. They sound like robots or something. Graphically the game was pretty up there, but I don't think it holds a candle to Frostbite 2.0

My vote is defintely Battlefield 3.

The level of detail, the sounds, the voice acting, the physicals, controls, gunplay, everything, literally is top notch. They must have spent a fortune on this game.

Just go into an empty server and walk around on Gulf of Oman. It's incredible.

So for me, it's Battlefield 3. Withouta doubt.

For me it's between Skyrim and BF3 aswell. Skyrim was awesome but had some flaws like you said. BF3 is still going strong for me after 90 hours of playtime, while Skyrim did get a little boring after doing almost everything there is to do, thankfully it's VERY mod friendly and the possibilities are endless on that front.

But yeah, I'm going to have to say Battlefield 3.

BF3!!!!, Skyrim held my attn for only so long. I haven't had the need to play it since B2K...MW2.5 doesn't even belong in the category

I cant get into the oblivion games. Skyrim is a great game Im sure, but I just cant get past the visuals and stiffness of the game.

Skyrim, hands down. The more I play this game(~100 hours in) the larger it gets.
Keep in mind, their world/loading technology has to be quite a bit different than Frostbite.. the levels are much.. much larger.

I built a new system for BF3 hoping for a successor to BF2- I was disappointed. I still love BF3, but it just isn't BF2 quality. This disqualifies it as GOTY for me. They sacrificed too much for the console market.

Runner ups would be Deus Ex, Minecraft

Actually, I'm going to change my post and say Portal 2. That game is simply stunning. So amazingly well done, and infinitely polished. It is a genuinely fun and enduring experience going through any portal game. I can't wait for Portal 3.
