Finally got the last 20 seconds of footage needed to finish my video. Nothing fancy editing wise, some pretty awesome dumbfires, and even a bit of Liberator ass-gun action. I'd love any criticism before I publish the final copy Some things I am specifically wanting feedback on are the transitions and the Phoenix shot. The transitions feel uneven to me, and often leave a few too many seconds of negative space (wasn't avoidable given my current editing skillz). As for the Phoenix kill, of which there is only one, it felt more like luck then skill. I considered subbing in another dumbfire. Song is "Here comes the Boom - Payable on Death" Enjoy
Thanks man! The majority of my footage was unusable because when I first started shooting down ESFs with a shrike I'd go "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH" and it was loud as fuck
Pro tip, split your audio streams, that way you can turn down microphone/turn up in game. You can also split teamspeak into its own stream and cut if out completely.
Yeah, I am working on splitting the audio up. Kinda don't like TS being played in the recordings... Anyways, It's up on reddit now. I'm pretty proud of it considering it's my first experience in video editing, ever. http://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/26qw0h/video_in_which_i_bring_the_boom_my_first_montage/
I found this extremely helpful http://shmuelhoffmansblog.com/2011/01/25/how-to-edit-video-a-basic-style-guide/ Your footage is very good, that's the most important thing, and it's well synced up to the music and got me feeling pumped. So regardless of your edits you did a good job there. I think the editing could use polish but it wasn't distracting or anything.
