May I add to this debate, whereas you metric system is cute and all with out our units of measure Hitler would have lb. your countries to oblivion. So I will go with the unit of measure that continues to fight the worlds fights and build the most advance weaponry know to man.

MURICA! for the win one INCH at a time!

And you think that because they used imperial units they were able to confuse the enemy with it's arrangement and win the war?

Numbering systems don't win a war.

If you want to defend a system because it is something that is in your country and not in others and you have pride for your country, fine. Every man should be proud of his country and heritage. (Only politicians should make you think otherwise)

But I fail to see a connection between using a lb vs a kg and world war 2.

Wasn't there a space shuttle that blew up because they mixed up the conversions, or something like that? I don't remember details.

Easy Iolar, I was just having fun and the expense of the thread, also if you expand upon it USA used the Imperial system and the Axis powers did not. The LB was a play on words to state the word pounded, as for HK and GLock you brought forth two EUro weapons I just took the juxtaposed view and had some fun. As for the numbering system not winning a war, I think the best calculations and strategy most certainly did win a war. I will not bring politics or politicians into it, most are bad and most are corrupt to a point. I am not bashing a country or any country in what I stated it was a tongue and cheek and should be seen as that.
