    New Setup

Our new “Casual Platoons” will be split-channel only, and will start to stray away from our definition of the word casual. We are orienting ourselves to a more organized structure, with Platoon Leaders focusing on an overall objective and Squad Leaders focusing on immediate objectives. Platoon leaders will be expected to place the Platoon Waypoint on the base he or she wishes to attack. Platoon Leaders are also in charge of directing the method of transportation (i.e. Galaxy Drop, Armor Column, etc). It is not uncommon for platoon leader to create and occupy a “command squad” with 1-3 people who are focused on leading the platoon.

PLATOON LEADERS WORD IS FINAL. If the Platoon Leader calls for a Galaxy (gal) drop you /suicide or redeploy (If it takes longer than 5 seconds to start your redeploy, then /suicide) IMMEDIATELY and prep for gal transportation. This should take NO MORE than 45 seconds to re-form and head out to the Platoon Waypoint (PL waypoint).

Squad Leaders, your job is to lead your squad into battle. You have DIRECT control of the other 11 people in your squad. You have the authority to ask anyone to pull any class or vehicle you deem necessary (resource and certification permitting). However, once squad lead calls for something and you have what he or she is calling for, please volunteer. It will make it easier on everyone if things happen as quickly as possible. Everyone in your squad should follow what you say; make sure to listen the FIRST time something gets called, and be aware of your situation. If someone is quiet on comms, turn them up or ask them to be louder.

TeamSpeak Communication (Comms) are going to be strict. TeamSpeak (TS) is to be used for general callouts like Sunderers, Beacons, large enemy presence and really nothing more. When calling something out in TeamSpeak stick to these rules: “What, Where, How Many?” and “Keep your chatter to a 5 second time frame maximum”. The Platoon Leader has SOME discretion as to what can be discussed in TS but should try to stick to these rules as close as possible. New Ops Setup:

    Platoon Leader Responsibilities:

Platoon Leaders are expected to be experienced with battle flow and understanding, and should be able to predict how enemy troops will move/react in real time. Being a platoon leader requires you to know counters to mass troop movement as well as utilizing mass troop strats/tactics of your own (MAX Crash or Gal Drop) as well as WHEN TO USE THEM. Platoon leaders do not micromanage the troops, but rather macromanage the squads as a whole. You must be competent in reading the Indar, Esamir and Amerish maps and understanding how each continent works fundamentally. Using this, you will be able to read the map in real time and utilize your platoon to its highest efficiency by placing them at the right place at the right time.

Splitting squads after the platoon reaches over 12 members. (Split into two squads of six.)
Manage and maintain control over platoon inner workings
i.e. Switching out members from squad to squad, coordinating with squad leaders.
Represent NNG properly through in-game Command Comms and cooperate with other friendly outfits
Only responsible for setting target for platoon
i.e. Sunderer location & Squad Waypoint your orders
    Waypoints
    General Direction

    Squad Leader Responsibilities:
As Squad Leader, you are in charge of a direct objective (capture point, generator, terminal location, or any other strategic location you or the Platoon Leader deem necessary). Platoon Lead is NOT responsible for giving the squads orders, only guidance. What this means is, the Platoon Leader might call out something and place a squad waypoint, and you (Squad Lead) are to make your way to that area [with your squad] and defend it how you see fit. As Squad Leader you must develop strategies geared toward executing the current objective as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is your duty to maintain squad class cohesion: proper balance between Assault and Support classes, keeping your guys on point and MAKING THAT BACON SIZZLE (Squad beacon). Always let the Platoon Leader know where you’re going so he knows what he is working with down on the field and can make better calls.

Listening to / following all orders given by Platoon Leader immediately
i.e. Alpha to point A, Bravo to point B, Re-deploy for Gal drop, etc.
    Leading YOUR 11 people.
i.e. Once the general attack plan is laid out by Platoon Leader, YOU will be responsible for carrying out squad specific tactics and issuing the necessary orders to complete the task assigned either by the Platoon Leader or yourself.
YOU are responsible for YOUR squad.
YOU are responsible for making sure YOUR squad members are following all orders given in a timely manner.

    Squad Member Responsibilities:
Squad members are the main bulk of any squad or platoon, they get the job done. They do this by avidly listening to squad leaders orders and fulfilling requests to their best ability. The Squad succeeds only when the squad members work as a cohesive unit, side by side in close vicinity of each other. It is each squad members responsibility to know WHAT THEY ARE DOING in relation to the squad and be certain that it is aiding the unit as a whole. Squad members are required to act quickly when given orders. If something is requested, it is the responsibility of the squad members to answer IMMEDIATELY. Remember. YOU ARE THE BACKBONE. If you take forever, if you dawdle, if you don’t pay attention, THE ENTIRE PLATOON WILL REFLECT IT. There is some pressure on you guys here to perform at your best and leave the enemy crying in a corner.

Listening to / following all orders given by Squad Leader immediately or ASAP
i.e Not, after they’re done killing that guy, not after they spawn, AS SOON AS IT IS CALLED.
Following the new TeamSpeak / Voice Chat guidelines
Alerting the Squad Leader to immediate attention situations
i.e. Enemy squad beacons, tank lines, enemy Sunderer spotted, etc.
Squad members are also expected to alert the squad leader in TYPE or in VOICE CHAT if you will be going afk.
Reasons are not required; But “SL [insert name/(or)/squad number] gotta go afk for a minute here” is all that is needed
Opinions on decisions made by the squad leader/platoon leader are ONLY ALLOWED in type chat
Keep it concise: We don’t need an essay or a narrative explaining why going somewhere else might be a better idea
i.e. “hey snowshear looks like it could use more help than Mani” is all that is needed.

    FFA/The new new casual Setup:
    Allowed to make breakaway squads
    Old style of casual play
Laid back and totally do-whatever speed
    Outfit/Private ONLY

    Competitive Team Setup:

    Application Process:
    In Game Name
    Classes & Vehicles
One (or more) BEST Assault Class (LA or HA)
One (or more) BEST Support Class (CM or E)
One (or more) BEST Ground Vehicle
One (or more) BEST Air Vehicle
Stats are looked at via the Das Anfall stats website and cross-referenced at the PlanetSide-Universe stats page
