It's role playing at its finest. Some people looove that stuff. In the game I played earlier I ran into 4 guys who were talking straight military lingo and that's how they communicated. I find it kind of cool but I won't go that far. I guess it has some resemblance to people who role plan in MMO's, or Second Life. It's a way to live out fantasies from childhood without actually getting hurt, shot, runover, etc.

Gobs did you DL the beta yet? Its about 9GB.

We should try to get as many people as we can to play either a team fight or a coop mission sometime. That shit is intense as all hell. Any game can be fun when you play it with your friends.

But I think how you act in games depends on the games themselves. When you play a milsim you act a little more serious. When you play BF3 there is some seriousness when there needs to be but not all the time. When you play Mariokart everyone goes crazy and has fun.

It's sort of like dressing up. Your demeanor is an extension of the outfit. When you wear a suit you behave differently. When you wear shorts and a tee shirt you relax. :D

I haven't bought it and really have no interest. I appreciate it for what it is, but I've never been into the RPG/Sim style of it all. Not my cup of tea. Me, I'm waiting for the real cake that is Battlefield 4 :9

It's more sim than RPG. Today I heard a guy ask how to get more ammo when he ran out. Someone comm'ed go back to base. He then asked, how? Someone said, either walk, or call for a chopper evac. He said, can I just suicide? Everyone laughed. Because there is literally no option to suicide in some game modes.

It's definitely a very specific and acquired cup of tea.

I cant wait to get the game an jump in with you guys. Cant afford it right now but soon.

I for one am excited for the ACE mod and other mods coming to ArmA 3. ACE was huge in ArmA 2, so I cant wait to see what they do for ArmA 3. Sound mods, weapon mods, better fluidity in the UI mods, etc etc. (especially that last one)

Frank only accepts steaming hot tube packages from Boone :D

Yeah Frank, get in quick. The beta has shaped up nicely. The Alpha was a smoldering mess. End result should be nice.
