Whats your hobbie/passion?

BF3

Building computers, I build machines for all my friends and family. I currently have 6 fully capable BF3 machines because I can't pass up open box deals at Newegg and microcenter. I dunno if that is a hobby, passion or illness? i really need to get some of this junk on ebay.

I like building things. Did quite a bit on my house, some of the excavation, all the wiring, woodwork etc. Currently installing a geothermal system. I dug 1/6 mile of trench 3.5' wide, 12' deep to bury nearly 7/8 mile of pipe. supposed to save me about $3000 a year on heat and AC. Next year will be solar and wind. I'd like to be completely off the grid in 2 years. Not a green guy, just sick and tire of being at the mercy of utility companies and government taxes.

Starting a vineyard, going to plant 400-500 vines in addition to the 5 I currently have. Also putting up a green house next summer.

Used to hunt before kids, will enjoy doing that with the kids in a few years when they get older.

I mine gold, and have since long before it was on TV. If the opportunity arose, I'd move to Alaska in a heartbeat for the hunting, ocean fishing and gold mining.

Used to drag race a bit, built a few 500hp+ Oldsmobile street cars that run 11 second quarters, they just weren't very practical. The are just sitting in the barn now. I now have a G8 GT that will be getting a supercharger some time this winter. Fast and drive anywhere.

Work is sort of a passion, I work with CNC machines and robots. I am a service manager for a CNC dealer. We specialize in automation. I really enjoy working with these machines, because the only limit on what you can make is your imagination.

Unfortunately, all this severely limits my BF3 time.

 

Sounds cool. I would rate those things much more worthwhile than BF3 time

 

You can make us stop feeling inferior any time now.

 

Like you do me any time you're in a chopper?

Please. I'd much rather be swordfishing than any of the things I do. Airsoft sounds like a blast. My construction projects are as much about work and saving money as rewarding. Gold mining is really hard work and I'm not rich yet...it's something my kids like to do and its out in the wild. Hunting is common. I wish I could play guitar, I've tried and failed at that. I'd love to program, just don't have any time. Being close to releasing a game is very cool.

Didn't mean to sound full of myself at all if that's how I came across, it's just my life and why it's hard sometimes to get on with you guys.

Dude, have you heard about the guy who actually sells energy back to the utility company? You can be that fuckin guy. That's so cool; that's the kind of stuff I plan to invest in first when I eventually own a home. Its a win win, you increase your homes value, decrease your utility bills, and become self sufficient. Awesome.

 

That's what I'm going for, unfortunately I don't have his budget.

 

Hobbies… I suppose I have some. I fucking love baking . I recently entered in a bake off (which is lost by mostly my error. I didn’t make enough)

I really enjoy ceramics. I don’t get to make stuff really anymore due to the lack of access to a kiln. I have considered taking a non-credit class at the college near me just for fun. It cost a lot though. Here is a picture of the most controversial thing I ever made while in high school. It lasted less than an hour in the display case before other teachers had a petition going to have it removed. Good times.



Now I do mostly digital art. Most of the recent background images for the site I have created. This is a fun desktop I made:



That’s about it other than playing video games. I have an xbox in addition to my pc. I play mosts rpgs and other random stuff on the xbox and FPS on the PC
