So here is the thing about FRB, it's not harder than HB, it's different.
Can you treat it as a sim? I suppose you can but it's not too realistic.
It does give you the feeling of actual flying without the bullshit.
You start having fun from the minute the round starts. Every single thing is challenging. Take off, flying, hiding, looking and not to mention tracking, following and shooting.
You guys, and by "You guys", I mean the original WT members who started playing from the minute Linch found the game, all you guys can shoot and you guys can shoot really well. As a matter of fact I've seen you guys fuck shit up in HB like no other.
Other thing that you have going for you is an ability to think, not being greedy like I am and know when to break off and disengage.
If YOU apt those skills to FRB, we're going to be unstoppable.
The feeling that you get when you shoot down your first plane is worth every minute of effort that you put into this.

My advise - go to your local Best Buy and "borrow" a $25 joystick. Get the free head tracking software and give it a try.
Worst case senario, return the stick to best buy and get your money back.

I rarely get excited for games any more but this is one of those times when I actually want to encourage people to give it a go.

My goal is to have a NNG squad boomin and zoomin in FRB and fucking shit up!

For me, personally, it's too sim.

I dont like cockpit view. I dont use sticks. I dont want to mess with fuel mixture, prop pitch, trim, I dont want head tracking.

I like 3rd person, point & fly/shoot. That's why I liked WT when I've never been good at any other flight game other then battlefield.

I love your excitement, I'm fine with getting more people to try the mode, but you must know it's not for everyone, myself included.

I totally realize that, to each it's own. I know that a lot more people would be interested in FRB if it didn't require joysticks and head tracking. Mixtures and shit like that is too much for me as well so I just don't use'm just yet even tho I think I should.
If you want to see a true definition of a flying sim, take a look at some a10 videos. Omg!
I watched a guy spend at least 5 minutes just getting ready for take off and had his buddy read the instructions for him. Judging by the conversation, those guys were RL pilots too so they knew their shit.
After watching that, I was like, NO! This isn't for me, so I totally understand where you coming from.
Not to mention that BF3 expansion aka BF4 :) is just around the corner.
I'm sure that plenty of people will be MIA for at least the first month after it's released.
