Clapping my hands for science, that p53 mutations are a bollox, that being said is THC linked to carcinogenic effects? (Do you have a link? I kinda want to read it)

"p53" is a protein that fixes DNA throw-out interphase/mitosis and meiosis(reproductive). When the cell senses damage as in faulty DNA during the process "p53" is released to repair. If "p53" builds up too much the cell goes into apoptosis ( celluar death). The mis-folding of this protein or any type of mutation can lead to cancer or other serious diseases.

Here is a simpler explanation that is accurate I read it.^
However, it's not really anti-tumor persay. Cancer cells lack p53 and perform angiogenesis and their telomeres do not decay ( Cancer is immortal for the most part).

    Interesting read http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/T/Telomeres.html

My professors enjoyed the reads, they're not too hard, but you may need references.

I can go into more detail about faulty p53 but it will lead into more things: here are your requested documents.

This is a very complicated read I don't even know all of the inhibiters, pathways, etc. But it explains on a cellular level.

Here's 19 studies. Not easy read.

And something simple but explains not much.

like these are fake, they have no scientific merit, they do not explain what does or doesn't go on. Voodoo science.

You're free to do as you please, I've had this argument so many times with my friends, I guess I always like to prove my point.

We eat modified food. We drink water with pharma waste and fluoride. We breath in industrial and transportation related bi-products. Every moment we're bombarded by cosmic/solar particles. Simply living is bad for our health. With this in mind, and compared to the truly bad drugs that are consumed (including but not limited to the ones I noted in the previous post), marijuana is harmless. But more to the point, I said it was the safest (recreational) drug, not that it was perfectly safe. All things have risk.

Yes, it changes your state of mind. That's why it's used. It's the point. But it dose not change your personality. If you wish, you can attempt to use your studies to refute my claim, as you did with my 'safe' comment, but I will trump the science with 20 years of real world experience.

Not arguing here man, I'm a biochemist and I need reading material for next week, and correct me if I'm wrong here but p53 regulates protein synthesis to an extent? i.e. in that when it is not regulated the cell then goes into crazy "lets replicate everywhere, make all the blood vessels and steal all the nutrients mode". (Off topic, but meh)

The important thing is that our justice system still works. He was proven innocent in that he didn't go out that night with malicious intent. People who say that he went out to shoot someone that night are clearly being spoon fed recycled garbage news from the popular media outlets. Spewing back what you hear on the news is probably the dumbest thing you can do as an American right now. Our news networks are fucked beyond belief. Read independent news only.

Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin both got caught in a very bad confrontation that yes, perhaps could have been avoided, by BOTH parties, but it was not. One guy lost his life when he thought that straddling someone and smashing their head into the sidewalk repeatedly was the only appropriate way for him to handle the situation. I agree wholeheartedly with the verdict and thing it's completely suiting for what the defense had proven.

I think most people sided with Trayvon because the news made you originally want to side that way, and for people to reverse and go back on what they said doesn't happen very often anymore in our culture.

    Ghostsheets,

    MSNBC IS FULL OF SHATKO.

They can't even imagine Trayvon Martin actually doing this??? I could easily take Zimmerman when I was 17 probably better than I could now I was 2 years into martial arts when I was 17. I could easily imagine a 17 year old throwing hands.

MSNBC is worse than RUSH Limbaugh.

Kudos to CNN, for bring his borther on. His brother was the most senseable.
