i had to use the Logitech software to set the top two keys to 'num / ' and 'num * ' then bound those to the chats in the game

Now I know why a better than standard mouse is useful, it's for TS. Perhaps I should get something better than my €10 standard mouse :P

    I've got:
    Z = TeamSpeak
Left Ctrl = Proxy (still have C for crouch)
    Numpad Enter = Squad.

The other ones I barely use, but they're all numpad bound as well. I tried bounding them to my side mouse buttons, but for some reason it only "clicks" even when I hold the button down. So, instead, I bound my class ability (Heavy Shield, Medic Proxy Heal, etc.) to the big one. Still trying to figure out what to do with the other button, but I'll leave that for another thread.

    Here's my set up:

    'c' - Prox
    'v' - Squad
    '`' (tilde) - Platoon
    (Mouse Button) - TS
    Numpad - default everything else

Bumping this as a reminder. TS is getting a little chatty lately.

I've just started muting those who annoy me too much with chatter, so if you try to talk to me and I don't respond, you may have been talking too much about non essential bull$h!t to the op in question, be it casual or structured

Personally, I think these kind of measures shouldn't be necessary. If they are, people should be warned about it by officers or our more regular platoon/squad leaders.

I agree with both of you. I try to avoid muting people at all costs but I can't say I haven't. My first step is always to lower the volume first then if you're still describing your thoughts on what you ate for lunch in the middle of a battle I go for the mute.

You're right, Officers should take charge on keeping the chat clear and focused. Having a clear, tactical TS is what drew me to NNG. IMO It will draw others as well.

The few times I've heard people ask for others to cut the chatter, people have either pushed back with "this is a casual platoon it doesn't matter" or have laughed it off if it's anyone but Jaamaw. I've also taken to muting people or avoiding the big channel to rectify it. It's not something I particularly enjoy doing, but the 4th time I die or have to ask for relevant stuff to be repeated because I couldn't hear something... that person's going on mute until I'm done playing.

For the record I do not globally mute them, only to myself.
I have called for people to cut the chatter time and time again, and as an officer I still get back talk from people. If that's how it is, then I just mute away. Then they can chat to everyone else all they want, just as long as I don't have to listen to it.
